THIS!!! THIS RIGHT HERE!!! Dia, you absolute geniusâđđđâyou nailed it!
We just want to be seen, you know? That feeling of someone out there catching the light in your words⊠it fuels us.
And oh, how true this hits. Writing my original story has made me realize just how much I crave that connection. Fanfiction is like a message in a bottleâI write it for myself, yes, but the intention is always to cast it out into the sea and hope someone picks it up. But my original story? Thatâs a secret garden, locked away, and I donât even know if Iâll ever let anyone in. Maybe one day. If I finish it. If. But therein lies the cruel twistâitâs hard to feel motivated when thereâs no feedback, no readers to react, no sparks to bounce off. So, yeah⊠itâs going reeeeeeal slow (thank god for my husband, whoâs volunteered as tribute to read itâbless his patient soul).
And those people demanding updates? I honestly donât know how writers survive that! The stress alone would bury me alive. This is supposed to be our escape, our joy, not another 9-to-5 hustle. Iâve only written so much because I was on sick leave, and honestly? It was therapy. Writing saved me when I felt like I was falling apart.
Dia, let me just say it: I FUCKING LOVE YOUR STORIES. Like, seriously, every single word is a masterpiece. You are stupidly talentedâitâs unrealâand that brilliant brain of yours? Sexy as hell đ
These last few weeks, though⊠Ugh, I feel this. Even comments donât hit the same anymore. Donât get me wrongâIâm still grateful, always. But itâs not about the praise anymore. (Okay, maybe early on I did have a little praise kink đ) Now, I just want to know that people felt something. Tell me what resonated. What weirded you out. What made you laugh or cry or scream into your pillow. What detail of worldbuilding caught your eye. Tell me anything, as long as itâs real đ«¶
But honestly, Dia⊠I feel like Iâm standing at the edge of something. It feels too late for me. The comments are lovely, but theyâre not enough to pull me back from this weird, liminal space Iâm in. I donât know if Iâll ever finish the rest of my WIP list. Maybe Iâve crossed that point of no return line, the one where you canât go back. And that thought makes me ache in ways I canât quite put into words đąStill, thank you for being hereâfor reading (just adding stuff to your tbr counts too!), for listening, for existing. Youâre a star, Dia. And stars donât go unnoticed, even if the sky feels lonely sometimes đ«âš
So⊠yesterday, I received an email from AO3, and Iâve been crying ever since. Perhaps itâs sillyâthis flood of emotion over a comment, a reviewâbut it felt like a light cutting through the fog. You see, Iâve been slowly coming to terms with the idea that maybe I shouldnât write fanfiction anymore, and yet⊠this single moment of kindness warmed my heart in ways I canât quite describe đ„čđ«
It doesnât take much to move me; just a few words can brighten my day, lift me up from the quiet doubts that linger. Thatâs why I, as a writer, keep yearning for comments and reviewsânot out of vanity, but out of a simple question: Do you even like my stories? Should I keep going? Without an echo to my words, with only silence or the faintest of replies, the answer feels like a quiet, heavy no.
And it stings. It really does. Thatâs why I havenât been here much. Because if Iâm being honest? It hurts. But still, itâs okay. I look back at everything Iâve written, and my heart swells with pride. These stories have been my solace, my healing, my way of pouring out hurt, sadness, pain, and traumaâand transforming them into characters who struggle, grow, and, in the end, find comfort. Writing has always been my way of giving myself a hugâa quiet reminder that everything will be okay. And it will. I know that.
Maybe Iâll keep writing, not fanfiction, but something just for me. Something Iâll tuck away, like a secret world where my heart can wander freely.
I know this all sounds a bit dramatic, and maybe it isâafter all, itâs Christmas Day here, and nothing has gone quite the way I hoped. And so, here I am, sitting on Tumblr with tears in my eyes. But I needed to say this:
Thank you.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading my stories. Thank you for existing. Each and every one of you means more to me than youâll ever know.
I wish you the warmest, most peaceful Holiday season, and may it be filled with love, light, and little moments that healđđ

Rescued Writing Links!
When cleaning out the HEY, Writers! Pinterest I moved some links here. The internet has changed a LOT since I started collecting these, so some links may include outdated info. All were still active when I made this, but it's been in my drafts for a hot minute.
Protip! In Firefox, check to toggle reader view when reading these (mobile: the page icon in the url bar; desktop: same icon or hit F9). This removes popups, ads, screen clutter, and often has an audio option.
Survivors of Internet Decay Award!
These active sites featured most often in my collections so they get the top of the list.

It was the summer before me and Jakeâs junior year of university. We have been working all summer and itâs another other day at the office. Putting in check information for the bank was a lot more boring than I expected . Wake up, go to work, come home, sleep, repeat. There was no time to do anything else. We were always told that if we went to college, we would have a good job. That proved to be wrong.Â
Both Jake and I are going through college together, though he landed a way better paying job than I did. When it comes to bills, he ends up having to pay more than me, but he swears up and down that it is not a big deal.
I set down my mug. I hear my phone ring. Itâs Jake. âHello?â he should be at work. âHey Pumpkin, I got out early today, were there any groceries that we needed?â
âOh, no I canât think of anything.â Â âOkay, Stay safe, I will see you later.â
Jake never really got time off of work but when he did, I usually tried to stay out of his hair and let him relax. I just continued to run reports, pretty much twiddling my thumbs until the clock struck 5 and I would make my way out of this hell hole.
Traffic was terrible as usual. A usually 7 minute drive turned into an hour. Days like this I just want to get home and throw all my stuff on the ground and lock myself away in my room. Maybe watch some TV. Or listen to some music while my computer is hooked up to it. Anything that distracts from knowing I have to go back to the job I hate the next day. My thoughts are interrupted by a honk coming from behind me. The light turns green. Thank God. But as soon as I pull away from the curb, a car pulls out in front of me. Damn those stupid drivers. I donât even know how many times this month Iâve had to pull over so they could let someone pass. It isnât worth getting into a fight with them about. I try to ignore them.
I made it back to our house just in time for the sun to still be out. I made way into the house and Jake was in the kitchen. It was an unusual sight. His after work routine typically consists of cracking open a cold one and playing his computer. âHey princessâ he greeted me.
I stand at the front door, taking off my shoes and hanging my keys on the rack. âWhat has you in a good mood all of a suddenâ I ask suspiciously.
âWell since I got off work early, I figured iâd come home and suprise you with dinner since you just been eating so much take out recentlyâ he replied nonchalantly. The thought makes me sick. âYou didnât need to do that Jake.â âOh yes, I did. You havenât been cooking for yourself for a couple months now. I wanted to show you how much your best friend cares about youâ he says.
Reguardless of what I say, the food is made and there is no taking it back. I guess I canât really argue with him over it.
âAnd besides, I know you have missed your mom cooking pasta for us when we would go to her house in Australia, I figured I should make some do you insteadâ he adds.
I slowly approach the table. He is still finishing up plating everything. He looks up at me and smiles. âIt smells goodâ I say flatly. He takes off the oven mitts and wipes his hands on it. He sets my plate down in front of me and he pulls out the chair to my right and takes a seat.
âSo how was your day Jake?â I asked awkwardly. He starts digging in and responds, âNot too bad. What about yours?â
âSame shit different day. Boss is always yelling at me and the company keeps treating me like garbage even though I am the only one who actually gives a fuck.â I complained, eating a piece of garlic toast. It tasted good, surprisingly good, considering the amount of spices he used.
âWell I am glad itâs Friday so you can take some time to unwind over the weekendâ he attempts to comfort me but at this point iâm too tired.
âI guess.â I poke at my food a little bit. Why does Jakeâs job seem so perfect? he easily makes twice as what I make and I rarely hear him complain about working either.
âYou donât have to eat if you donât want to, I am not going to force you.â I guess Jake noticed me being hesitant about eating the rest of my meal.
âItâs not that I donât want to eat itâs just that Iâm really stressed and I donât want to keep you here listening to me complain about the same things over and over againâ
âLook at meâ he said. I slowly lift my head for my eyes to meet with his. âI promise I will never get tired of listening to youâ he reassured.
There he goes again, sending those butterflies flapping in my stomach. I donât understand why he is so gentle and compassionate. It gives me goosebumps. I decide I might as well stop procrastinating and start enjoying the evening. âThank youâ I say, giving him a small smile. His face immediately lit up. Itâs kind of cute. The rest of dinner went rather smoothly. Jake kept the conversation going, mostly talking about my day and what his was about, and then we would drift off into silence. He looked so relaxed and calm that I felt completely at ease. Even if I knew I should feel bad for keeping him up with my whining, I couldnât bring myself to.
I stand up from the table and wash my plate. âI donât know if anyone told you today, but you look gorgeous as alwaysâ he sneaks up behind me. âYou donât look too bad your self Jakeyâ I returned. My face was already a dark hue of red.
I decided maybe tonight I wonât rot away in my room. Itâs a Friday night, Iâll have a little bit of fun. Still inside the house though. It is probably too cold outside anyway. I realize I am still in my work clothes. I return to my room to take them off and throw on my most comfortable pair of shorts and a talk top and take my Nintendo Switch to the living room.
Jake was already waiting there for me. He had a bottle of wine and 2 empty glasses. He looked up when I entered and smiled. I gave a shy smile and sat down next to him. He pulled me closer to him, pressing himself against me. Our legs intertwined under the couch. For a moment I forgot about the work situation and the world. In that moment it just felt nice to sit close to someone who cared for me unconditionally.
âWhat were you wanting to play?â he breaks the silence. âI was thinking we could play some Mario Kartâ I suggested.
âYeah we can, but you already know Iâm gonna kick your assâ. He loves teasing me. I punched his shoulder and chuckled.
~~~~~~~~~~
He is in my bed. I just woke up and he is in my bed. I donât know how to react. Maybe I drank a little too much? I really donât remember anything after playing a few rounds of Mario Kart. He looks so peaceful. His dark brown hair all tangled up on the pillow. The way his biceps look in his black tank top. He doesnât snore, but the way he breathes when he sleeps is very cute. There is a slight hint of stubble on his chin, almost like he hasnât shaved in awhile. His lips are slightly parted. His face shows such contentment and relaxation. He looks so damn beautiful. I have to admit he is pretty attractive and I think he knows it. And I canât help but wonder about what would happen if I leaned forward and kissed him. His soft lips pressed up against mine. I think it would be okay. Probably wouldnât hurt. Scratch that, it would probably hurt a lot.
I woke up surprisingly early for a Saturday morning. Usually I am in bed until noon, but itâs only 9:30. Opposite of me, Jake likes to start his weekends bright and early, so it is a bit strange that he isnât awake by now. I wonât bother him. Itâs probably better this way. I roll over onto my side facing away from him. I close my eyes trying to fall back asleep. But it seems to be impossible. My mind is too preoccupied and Jakeâs body is far too close to mine for my liking. I groan quietly. It doesnât help at all.
I crawl out of bed, doing my best not to wake Jake up. As soon as I step out of the room, I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. Itâs my mom. I guess I hadnât returned and of her texts last night. She asks if I have slept okay and if Iâve eaten breakfast. When she sees I havenât. She sends me a picture of the last time I was at her house eating spaghetti. âJust eat something sweetheart and take care of yourselfâ she reminds me gently. I sigh deeply before replying. âMhmm thanks momâ I set my phone down on the kitchen counter and rummage through the fridge, hoping to find something appetizing for breakfast. As I search, I can't stop thinking about waking up next to Jake this morning. We've been best friends for so long, but recently I've started seeing him in a new light. The way his eyes crinkle when he smiles, how considerate he is, it stirs up the feelings I've been trying to suppress. I shake my head slightly and settle on making some eggs and toast.
As I cook, memories of last night come flooding back. The wine, the laughter, the gentle way he pulled me close on the couch as we played games. My heart flutters just thinking about how natural and right it felt being cuddled up next to him. But I can't read too much into it. Jake is my oldest friend, he probably sees the intimacy as purely platonic. The sizzle of the eggs brings me back to reality. I quickly plate the food and grab a mug of coffee before heading to the living room. I'll just relax and enjoy this lazy Saturday morning.
I'm about halfway through my breakfast when I hear Jake's footsteps shuffling down the hallway. He emerges, hair sticking up adorably, letting out a big yawn. "Mornin' sunshine," he says with a sleepy grin. I feel my cheeks warm at the nickname. "Morning. I made some extra if you want it," I reply, nodding toward the kitchen. "You're the best." Jake passes over to dish up a plate, giving me a perfect view of his lean back muscles stretching against his thin t-shirt. I quickly avert my eyes as he returns to the couch. As he sits next to me, our arms brush and I feel that spark of electricity again.
Jake doesn't seem to notice, just digs into his eggs happily. We eat in comfortable silence for a few minutes before he speaks up again.
"That was a fun night last night, wasn't it?" His eyes meet mine with a warm smile. "We'll have to do it again soon." I return the smile, hoping he can't see the longing behind it. "Yeah, it was really nice." Nice to just relax and be ourselves without any expectations or pressures. Nice to feel...that close to him.ââââââââââââââââ
~~~~~~~~~~
Jake has a friend named Jay. When Jake isnât at work or at the house, he is most likely hanging out with Jay. Jay is a go with the flow kind of guy and was kind of a womanizer. Thereâs nothing wrong with it, but I try not to hang out with Jake when Jay is there for that reason.
Jake and Jay always go out for drinks on Saturday nights. I canât remember the last time he was home on a Saturday night and I didnât have to take care of him the next morning. He routinely stays at Jayâs house that night then gets an Uber back here the next morning.
Jake and Jay's Saturday night routine carried on like clockwork most weekends. Around 9 PM, Jay would pick Jake up and they'd head to their usual bar downtown. The two friends would drink heavily, telling outrageous stories and shamelessly checking out any attractive women who passed by.
For Jake, it was just a guys' night out away from work stress. But for Jay, it was a chance to flirt and see if he could add another notch to his bedpost. Jake didn't partake in that behavior himself, but he also didn't reproach Jay for it. He figured it was just Jay's way.
Come last call, the two would be pretty sloshed. Instead of dealing with an Uber that late, Jake would just crash at Jay's place. He'd wake up hungover the next morning and request a ride from a car service back home.
When he arrived home disheveled, I'd already have water and painkillers ready for him. I hated having to nurse him after these nights, but it was better than having Jay's leering presence around me. His constant objectification of women made me deeply uncomfortable. So I put up with Jake's hangovers to avoid that part of their friendship dynamic.ââââââââââââââââ
Jake opens the front door. I can hear him complaining about his headache already. He sets his keys down and immediately lays down in the couch.
"Hey babygirl, where is the aspirin? Do we have any aspirin left?" he asks groggily. A small chuckle escapes my lips before I turn around to look at him, smiling slightly. âI already got it out for you, and here is a glass of waterâ. His eyes are closed as I place the pills in his hand and he smiles once they make contact. âThank you so much for taking care of me princess.â he praises as he shot the tablets into his mouth.
I giggle. This man is ridiculous. A loud yawn escapes his lips and I smile. As much as I hate seeing him like this, I am content with letting him have his fun every once in a while. His shirt is buttoned incorrectly, showing off his muscular chest. I look back at his face. His eyes were opened and he noticed me staring.
âWhatâs wrong Princess?â he slurs. âDo I look stupid or something?â âNo Jake, you look greatâ I reply truthfully. âYou just looked a little tired is all.â
Jake rolls over on the couch and turns onto his side. âI know youâre going to tell me I should rest more, but itâs so hard to sleep when youâre not in the same room.â
âReally? You usually fall asleep within seconds. Why is that?â He shrugs. âDonât know babe. Just donât like being alone.â I frown. Thatâs true enough. Jake never really liked being by himself. Ever since we were in diapers, he had always been surrounded by people. His parents, coworkersâŠme.
I decide to ask something rather personal instead. Maybe that will distract us for a while. âHowâs your mom doing lately? Do you miss her?â Jake doesnât respond right away. He starts fidgeting under my gaze. His hands begin picking at a loose thread on the couch cushion.
âYeah, yeah. I miss her. I wish she wouldnât be working so much now. She used to work less back when we were high school, you know? I still get worried sometimesâ he answers with a slight edge in his voice. âItâs okay Jake. You know she likes working for your dad. It helps pay for everythingâ I remind him softly. He nods slowly. After a few moments, he finally breaks the silence.
âWhy do you ask?â I guess he was caught off guard by the question. âI know itâs been a while since youâve seen them, Australia isnât in walking distance, ya know.â I try to cheer him up.
He sighs and looks down at the couch. âI guess I just wish I was able to spend more time with her like I did when I was younger. It doesnât matter though.â He shakes his head dismissively. âSheâll come visit whenever she can. Iâm just glad we both decided to live somewhere else for college. I would definitely have missed our family trips.â
âOhâŠâ I bite my lip unsure what to say to comfort him. Heâs always taken his mother very seriously. Even when he was young he often complained that she worked too hard and stressed herself out, which only made him madder. In all fairness, she did work extremely hardâeven harder than he ever could. And now that she has found some semblance of stability, he worries that he wonât be able to provide for her the lifestyle he wanted for her.
I reach out and pat Jake's arm reassuringly. "I know how much you miss your mom. But she's doing what she needs to in order to help take care of the bills and your dad. You know she'd be here if she could."
Jake nods slowly. "Yeah, you're right. I just wish there was more I could do from here, instead of feeling so helpless being so far away. I know my dad would want me there as well" He runs a hand through his tousled hair. "At least I have you around. Don't know what I'd do. You kinda of bring a feeling of home to me. I hope that made sense.â
I feel my cheeks flush a little at his words. "Well, you know I'll always be here for you," I reply, trying to keep my tone light.
âThank you sweet heart.â
~~~~~~~~~~
Our parents went to University together. Thatâs how they met. My mom met Jakeâs mom in a sociology class, and they have been best friends ever since. Being college bestfriend basically guarantees that your kid will have someone to grow up with, and they took advantage of that. He has litterally been there for every life event my mom felt was important enough to let him in on.
Though we didnât become friends by choice, we were latched onto eachother ever since we were introduced. I remember I would ball my eyes out when even Jake got sick because it meant I couldnât hang out with him after school or have play dates on the weekends. As we grew up, the situations werenât as innocent. I would confide in him when I was upset, and he would hold me in his arms after my nightmares. I even found comfort in him after my numerous hearts breaks in highschool. Though none of my relationships were ever that serious, I was still unmistakably heartbroken.
Jake was never really a ladies man in highschool, or in general. He studied more on acedemics, which I guess was a good idea considering where he is now. Although Iâd never said anything about it, his dating career was pretty dead for several years. In my opinion, it seemed unfair to Jake to not go on dates after highschool. While I understood why he wasnât interested, it seemed a waste not to try. After all, Iâm sure he could get any chick he wanted if he tried, I mean look at him. He had grown from a cute kid playing video games to one who had a perfect body and gorgeous features to match. So yeah, I loved that he was a boy and my friend. But there was no way I could give myself completely to such a man, especially with our history.
Jake is a lot different when Iâm around, a lot more caring and loving. Iâm reminded of all those times when I would find Jake crying when we came back from vacation during our sophomore year, or how he would suddenly appear at my room door at 5am looking for reassurance or help. At the time, I thought it was because he needed someone to talk to about the things troubling his mind, but now that I think about it , itâs kind of obvious heâs lonely. His dad has been in and out of the hospital recently. I donât really want to push Jake into going into detail about his condition because it might make him emotional, but I just know that it is another thing that is weighing on him.
When I first started seeing him more and more recently, I thought maybe he wanted us to become closer friends. I mean, he was always talking about how much he adores spending time with me, and how grateful he is to me for saving him and bringing him back to life. I think the situation with his parents are weighing down on him more than I realize.
~~~~~~~~~~
The rhythmic tapping of rain against the window pane fills the hushed stillness of my bedroom. I lie awake, Jake's sleeping form curled up beside me, his head pillowed on my chest. His eyebrows are furrowed even in slumber, mouth turned down in a soft frown - the worry lines etched across his features never seem to fully fade these days. Gently, I brush some stray locks of hair off his forehead, my thumb tracing over the crease between his brows. Jake's been carrying the entire weight of his family's struggle on those broad shoulders.
A quiet sigh escapes his lips and he burrows deeper into my side, one arm slinging possessively over my waist. We've been a tangle of limbs like this more nights than not recently. After the latest bout of bad news about his dad, Jake sought me out like a man wandering through the desert in desperate need of water. I remember the rawness in his voice as he begged to stay in his room, to be held and comforted, the same way I always have. Whatever Jake needs from me, he'll never be turned away.
Trailing my fingers through Jake's hair, I allow myself to drink in every detail of him in this rare moment of peace. The slight upturn of his perfectly sloped nose. The way his plump lips are parted just enough to allow shallow puffs of breath to ghost across my skin. He really is beautiful in the most masculine, rugged way. Not that I'd ever say that out loud - it would be mortifying if Jake caught me ogling him like some lovesick fool. Then again, I've been a lovesick fool for the better part of a decade when it comes to him.
Lost in the flow of my thoughts, I don't even register the soft snuffling noises at first. It's only when Jake's eyelashes start fluttering that I glance down to find him blinking up at me groggily. Without a word, he shifts until his head is cradled in the crook of my neck, placing a slow, scorching kiss to the exposed skin of the side of my neck.
The world seems to screech to a halt. That...was definitely intentional. Purposefully intimate. There's no way it was an accident or a brief moment of sleep-hazy confusion. Not with the way Jake's pupils are blown wide, his lips parting to reveal the tip of his tongue darting out to wet them instinctively.
Just as quickly as the spark ignited, Jake seems to deflate, burying his face into the juncture of my neck and shoulder with a muffled whimper. His hands are fisting in the fabric of my sleep shirt, clutching me with a white-knuckled grip like I'm his lifeline back to the surface. Like if he doesn't hold on, he might drown. "Hey hey heyâŠ" I gently stroke the length of his spine calming him. "You're okay now, everything is alright, relax..." Jake's breathing gradually slows. Gradually, he begins to relax, his fingers slackening their death grip in my shirt.
A few moments pass in silence before he lifts his head and looks directly at me. His eyes are slightly bloodshot, probably from all the crying. Theyâre red and glassy, a stark contrast to his usually flawless complexion. "Sorry," he murmurs. I shrug slightly. "Don't apologize." After a few sniffles, I feel his breathing become more consistent and his face is dry. He starts to do that cute breathing that I talked about. After I realized that he has met some sort of peace and fell asleep, I fell asleep soon after.

The morning light filters in through the cracks of my blinds, shining over Jake's sleeping body in a soft glow. My eyes trace the line of his jawbone, the gentle rise and fall of his bare chest as he breathes. He looks so tranquil like this.
Jake smells so fucking good. If I could lay on his chest and take it his scent all day, I really would. Not to mention his face is extremely handsome. He has the face that other guys wish they had. Itâs very obvious he takes care of himself.
I can't stop replaying that moment from last night over and over in my mind. The heat of Jake's lips pressing against the skin of my neck. Part of me was desperate to surge forward then and seal my mouth over Jake's, to finally give in to the magnetic pull that's been drawing me to him.
But I didn't. I couldn't. Because I'm also terrified of what exploring these feelings could mean for our relationship.
Losing him isn't an option I can fathom. And he seemed to make the same choice in that moment by turning away, burying his face against my neck with a whimper that could have been either anguished or relieved.
We're cowards, the two of us. Content to dance around the fire instead of being set ablaze
Part of me wonders if Jake was hoping for something in return. Maybe a kiss? Maybe he did it to show it trust and comfort for me. He knows what he is doing. The moment his lips touched my neck, my whole body shivered. I wanted more but I contained myself.
My body still hums with the memory of his kiss, nerves tingling with equal parts of dread. I want to reach out and trail my fingertips over the golden skin of his forearm, to breathe him in and see if he tastes how I've imagined on my tongue.
How many more moments like last night can I survive before the truth comes out? I don't have the answers. All I know is that I'm still undeniably his - body, mind and heart.
It has been too many nights where I imagine his lips against mine. The way he chills my spine when whispers in my ear makes me crave hearing his voice. I wonder what he would be like in a relationship with me, he treats me like a princess already, I donât know how much better it could get.
My mind drifts to memories of him holding me tight when I was upset, his muscular arms engulfing me in a warm embrace. The feeling of safety and contentment that would wash over me in those moments. If I could experience that every night by his side, it might just be pure bliss.
I fantasize about waking up intertwined with Jake, our legs tangled together as we trade kisses and touches unhurried by the outside world. Combing my fingers through his bed hair while he peppers light kisses along my jawline.
Maybe there could be slowmake-out sessions on the couch, all heated caresses and desperate roaming hands before things inevitably progress further. I would lavish every sculpted line of Jake's body with devoted attention. I imagine he would be an attentive, generous lover, just as giving in the bedroom as he is in every other aspect of his life.
I also canât get over the mental hurdle that maybe it is kind of gross that I see my bestfriend this way. I could easily mistake all of the kind things he does and how he treats me as something more than what he intends it to be, and that would make me uneasy. I have never done anything sexual with him and anything that would imply sexual attraction, yet I am still here wondering what it is like to have sex with him.
~~~~~~~~~~
I really need to get my feelings sorted out soon because they are just going to keep building up until they eventually burst, and I really donât want Jake to witness that.The week went the same again. and again. and again. Wake up, go to work, do nothing after. But recently, Jake got a promotion at his job, which was grounds for celebration.
The local diner is busy with the lunch crowd, the air thick with aromas of burgers sizzling on the griddle and fresh baked pie. Jake and I slip into our usual corner booth, the cracked vinyl cushions molding to our forms like old friends. This place has been our go to spot since we started university here. We've shared so many moments in this very booth over the years. Happy celebrations or acing a big exam.
Which is why the thick tension clouding the air between us right now feels so alien. Instead of our usual easy camaraderie, I can barely look at Jake without my pulse kicking up. The memory of his firm chest brushing mine, those plush lips just a table length away, has my skin flushing hot. I squeeze my thighs together secretly, desperate for any kind of friction to alleviate the slow burn of arousal low in my belly.
Just being this close to Jake is enough to have that want unfolding all over again. Filling my head with flashes of how it could feel to finally give in - his weight blanketing me, our bodies moving together in a sinuous rhythm as his mouth trails searing kisses along my neck. "Hey." Jake's low rumble jolts me out of the vivid fantasy.
"You're zoning out, sweetheart. Everything okay?" My cheeks flame darker, that suddenly seems too intimate. I duck my head, but not before catching the unmistakable smirk curling at the corners of Jake's lips. That insufferable, cocky smirk he knows drives me crazy. I want to kiss it off his stupidly perfect face. Or maybe bite at the sharp line of his jaw, put that arrogant look to better use while I'm straddling his lap and--
"Fine," I mumble, hooking a loose strand of hair behind my ear to avoid meeting Jake's eyes. The small movement causes our elbows to brush together on the tabletop. His skin is so soft. Jake's brow furrows, like he doesn't miss the way I've gone tense and flustered all over again. Before I can blink, his hand is covering mine. Those long fingers tenderly stroking along my knuckles, smoothing over my suddenly clammy skin.
Slowly, purposefully, Jake tugs my hand closer until my palm is cupping his scruffy jaw. I suck in a sharp, shaky breath at the contact, at being able to feel the rasp of his five o'clock shadow against my sensitive skin. Jake holds me there for a moment, those meltingly warm eyes boring into mine like he's trying to read my mind.
Then, in the most tempting act of torture imaginable, Jake presses his lips to my wrist in the barest brush of mouth against pulse point. I swear I could die right then and there. He slowly pulls away, looking up to meet my eyes once again. Our gaze meets, intense and lustful, filled with a hunger that only he knows how to create. This feels so wrong, so dangerous. The fact he's staring down at my lips, licking his subconsciously causes a slight hitch in my breathing. A tiny part of me wants to lean forward and press my lips to his. But I stop the impulse with the thought of what we did last night, and the consequences of getting caught again.
Instead, I let out a sigh and break eye contact before pulling my hand away and placing my elbow on the table. I rub my thumb across my wrist absentmindedly while avoiding Jake's gaze, the words I want to say stuck somewhere inside my throat like rocks. There isn't anything I can do. What I have with Jake is different now. I'm scared shitless to tell him how I truly feel.
"What's wrong? Are you alright?" Jake asks, worry laced into his tone. He places a hand on my thigh, making me jump slightly. âItâs nothing, reallyâ I lied. The server comes over to the table to take our order. âWhat could I get started for you to drinkâ he says.
-
Our meal goes by normally, Jake pretending that he had done nothing earlier. Afterward, we head home, the silence thickening the further into town we get. Thereâs nothing for me to say, no reason to prolong this conversation Iâm dreading anymore. He must sense my sudden change of mood. He drops his arm from around my shoulders and lets his hand fall limply back onto his knee.
We walk silently in the direction of our house. Neither of us speaking. Itâs almost as if weâre both waiting for the other to make the first move. I have an overwhelming urge to turn to him and kiss him.
~~~~~~~~~~
I canât stop thinking about Jake. He is the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about when I go to bed. Over the past few weeks, I feel like he has become a lot more touchy, which donât really mind. He smiles for a little longer when we eat together. We have slept in each others room a lot more often than before. I may just be over analyzing it.
Jake is going out with Jay again. As usual, I donât plan on him coming home tonight, and I will wake up to a hungover Jake. Jay isnât really the friend to take care of you when you feel ill, so that responsibility is left on me.
I hate to admit, but when Jake isnât home for a night, I fight the urge to sleep in his bed. I have been sleeping in his bed with him so often that it leaves me in withdrawal when we arenât in the same bed.
Just being in his room, his scent diffused in the air, it makes me miss him so much more. Even without thinking about the fact that it is his room, the bed is so much more comfortable than mine, which is all the better reason to sleep there.
I walk in, already in my shorts and t-shirt, and wonder around. He has the picture of us that his mom took when we were first leaving for Korea framed on his nightstand.
I pick it up and examine it closely. It is the one photo where we didnât appear stiff. I remember the day clearly; I was standing with him, grinning broadly. I never expected to smile so much when I was young, but my memories of our trip leave a bright happy feeling inside my stomach.
I set the photo back down and I lift the blanket from the corner of the bed. I slide into the bed, laying on his side like I usually do when he isnât here. I instantly melt into the sheets. I scroll on my phone whilst fighting my eyelids to stay awake, but eventually I fall asleep prematurely.
Jake usually keeps his room pretty cool, which calls for cuddling closely under the blankets. In the middle of my sleep, I am shot awake when my cold limbs are instantly warmed by an unexpected sensation. Why was Jake home?
Jake continues to get comfortable under the blanket, not even batting an eye at the fact that I was just sleeping in his bed. I pull him closer by his waist to fulfill the rest of the warmth that my body craves.
âWhy are you shivering sweetheart, you could have turned on the heater.â he worries.
âI wanted the temperature to be tolerable when you got back in the morningâ such a stupid explanation. âSpeaking of, why are you here right now? what happened to Jayâs?â I questioned, completely forgetting how we got into this situation in the first place.
âJay was feeling ill so we called it a night pretty early, I only got three shots down.â
Jake runs a lazy finger over my hip bone and leans in to nuzzle the crook of my neck. Shit. Heâll notice the way I react to his touches and I wonât be able to explain myself. Fuck.
âI thought I would come to my room and catch up on sleep but look what we have here insteadâ he says with that stupid smirk on his face.
âOh- oh Iâm sorry.â I slowly pull away from him to make way back to my room. âNo babe, please donât go, I want you to stayâ he begs while keeping our fingers latched to keep our extended arms together. He then latched his hand around my wrist to slowly pull me back down to his level on the bed. Itâs all happening too fast. He uses the same hand to comb his fingers through the strands at the bottom of my hair on the back of my head, and keeps his hand there entangled. He uses his hand to guide my head into a sensual kiss. He gently pressed his lips against mine. So plump, so dreamy. I reciprocated the kiss instantly, matching his pace and moving our lips in sync so perfectly. The way our lips intertwined so naturally gave me actual chills.
After giving me what I have dreamt about for years, he pulls away, leaving a string of saliva to connect our lips. He looks into my eyes, his pupils as voids. âPlease stayâ he whispers again. I nod dumbly, my brain still short circuiting as Jake bites is bottom lip. Heâs so fucking beautiful, my eyes are practically burning holes into his lips.
His fingers gently run over my cheekbone, lingering on my jawline, tracing along my nose. âHow did I ever deserve someone as beautiful as you?â he murmurs. His voice is full of admiration and love and affection. He trails his fingers along my jaw, pausing to lightly graze my collar bone, making goosebumps erupt across my skin. The heat radiating off Jakeâs body is practically burning me alive.
Without thinking about it for a second longer, I close the gap between our lips again. We moved in sync, in harmony. It feels like my lips were only made to kiss his. He rests his free hand on the side of my face and uses it as grip to deepen the kiss. Kissing him I had a sense of saftey. The longer our lips were together, the more open I was to his attempts at adding tongue into the mixture. It was a sloppy wet mess, but is all I have ever wanted.
I slide my hand between out warm bodies and feel across his obvious bulge in his boxers. He instantly let out a groan when I took his imprint into my palm. I stroked it gently as we continued with intertwined tongues. His grunts and breathlessness was insanely arousing.
It was clear that we were both extremely sleepy. After a few more minutes of kissing, we eventually pulled away, with no words spoken.
I try my best to hold in my moans as the warmness travels up my body like lava. He stops tracing my collarbone to trail his hands up the side of my body, stopping to stroke a line of soft kisses along the side of my neck.
My hands grasp tightly at the material covering Jakeâs shoulder blades and I use that leverage to get back under the blankets with him. We both face eachother, with our legs crossing randomly over one another. He once again rests his head in the crook of my neck, leaving a kiss like he did once before. Only this time, I know his true intention.
~~~~~~~~~
The fall semester is starting back up again. Junior year, both is our schedules are jammed packed with upper division classes. Having to balance so many classes and still having to work to keep up with the bills for the house, Jake and I hardly see each other. Even though I love spending every single day with him, I feel like Iâm living with a ghost whenever I see his empty seat. When I wake up every morning to find him gone, my heart starts to ache. It hurts knowing that we might not spend as much time together. I know that the sooner that this semester ends, the easier everything will be.
The end of the semester wasnât going to be soon though, itâs barely September. Iâve decided to try and set a study date with Jake and make sure nothing was overlapping the times. We eventually agreed apon Thursday night after he got off of his afternoon job. Maybe around 8 oâclock. I was getting a head start on my Statistics work before he showed up because I knew it would take me a while. He eventually showed up close to 8:30.
I had my headphone covering my ears, shoulders slumped over my desk, and he comes up behind me and take my shoulders in his hands and sensually massages. âAh thank youuuu~~~ my muscles are tightâ I jumped at the unexpected pressure. He drives his thumbs a little bit deeper into my blades and slides his straight arms down my stomach for a hug. âI missed youâ he griped with puppy dog eyes, resting his head on my shoulder. I take off my headphone and hold both of his forearms and pull him deeper into this awkwardly positioned hug.
After a few seconds he pulls away and grabs out his bag with his laptop, and runs to his room to grab his chair to pull up next to mine. I was still seated, watching, unable to take my eyes off him. He settles himself and puts the laptop on his knees in front of him. He opens his notebook, and turns the page to the worksheet for this month. My fingers naturally find their way to his back and scratch gently while he looks over his work. They made their way up his clothed back and into his hair and I ran them through this tangled hair. He let out a sigh of fufillment and he allows himself self to close his eyes to fully take in the relaxing feeling. He breaths in deeply and slowly, taking in my coconut scent.
âFuck itâ he says under his breath.
He turns in my directed and crashed his lips into mine with no hesitation. He wraps his arms around my neck, deepening the kiss. I was startled at the quick change in plans but my lips soon melted into his and I was under his control. My tongue dances along his bottom lip, asking for entrance as he obliges and gives access. He lifts me from my chair and pulls me over to straddle his thighs.
He guides his lips to mine again, running his hands down my back as he pushes me lower into his lap. I wrap my legs slightly around his waist for some sense of support. The sensual make out and lap straddling goes on and on, until he breaks away slightly to speak, âYou can move if you want sweetheartâ.
He reconnects our lips and I find myself needing any sort of friction to ease the pressure building between my legs. Subconsciously grinding my core over his thigh slowly. I bite down on his lower lip causing him to suck on my tongue immediately as a response. God, he tastes so good, like the cocoa butter lip balm I got him for his birthday.
I continue grinding over his thighs picking up the aggressiveness, as he continues to run his hands through my hair. âFeeling desperate, darling?â he teases, smirking as he tries to pull me back into a kiss. âShut upâ I harden my fist and hit the front of his shoulder. He always finds a way to tease me. He chuckles as we connect our lips once again.
He slides both of his hands under my thighs stands up from his chair, and I wrap my legs around his body as he carries me to the bed. He slowly lays me down on my back with my legs still wrapped around his waist. He doesnât break the kiss but as soon as he sets me down, I can feel his erection bulging through his pants rubbing against me sweet spot. We stop kissing momentarily as he looks at me, with lust filled eyes. He lets one of his hands rest on my chest, while the other traces along the side of my neck to my chin, tilting my head upward and pressing his forehead against mine. âLook at how gorgeous you are right now,â he says with pure adoration. âI canât help myself when Iâm with you.â A sudden surge of desire hits me and my hands grip his hips tighter as he starts to trail kisses on my jawline. I can feel an undeniable wetness spreading in my panties. I am becoming desperate.
I placed my hands at the bottom of his shirt and began lifting it up, but he finished the job and lifted it over his head and threw it to the side. I have seen Jake shirtless a million times over but this time is different. It feels more intimate than the last ones I have seen. I felt my throat tighten as my eyes were drawn to his chest which looked absolutely flawless. âSo beautifulâ I whisper and I trace my fingers over his abs and chest. His body looks perfectly carved and sculpted by a god. âItâs all for you, babyâ he cooed.
I reach my arms around his back and gently dig my nails into his skin as he continues to kiss me. He grabs the bottom of my shirt and pulls it over my head, revealing my breasts. I wasnât wearing a bra since I had been home all afternoon, and I definitely wasnât expecting this. As soon as he sees them, he takes one of them in his hand. He holds my right breast in his palm and gently rubs it between his thumb and index finger.
His gaze remains focused on my chest as his mouth begins to travel down, taking his time to enjoy each and every piece of my body. He stops to give me another kiss before placing his lips on my nipple. He sucks on my nipple whilst his teeth nipped at my flesh, causing me to moan lowly. I grabbed his hair pulling him closer to me. I grind my pelvis onto his dick, eliciting a groan and he removes his mouth, making a âpopâ sound, to look at his next target intensely. He took my other breast into his mouth, swirling his tongue around my nipple and softly sucking, making me arch my back and having a moan escape my lips. Jake trails his hands down my waist while keeping his mouth latched to me.
His fingers went into the top of my sweatpants and I stopped him. âI have never done this beforeâ I admitted. âDo you want me to stop?â he questions. How could I ever want him to stop? He is the only person I have ever imagined losing my virginity to. That aside I simply answer âNo, Jakey, I trust youâ
He continues to pull me pants down and off my legs and throws it to the side like he did with the other articles of clothing. He licks up my neck and comes to my ear. âI have never done this either, we can learn togetherâ he whispered. Hearing this made my noticibly more wet, the way he whispers into my ear raises every single hair on my body. The thought of us having our first times with each other made this whole so much more meaningful and made me a lot less hesitant.
The only thing I have left on are my black panties and Jake looks like he is a man with a mission. I grab his bulge through his jeans and gently massage. He becomes a groaning mess as I palm his desperate tip. He is barely even able to keep his lips a decent distance apart for me to kiss him. âFuuuck your hand feels so goodâ I take my other hand to start unbuckling his jeans, which he seems to have no problem with.
I pulled the belt off and unbuttoned his jeans and pulls them down, to where he took them all the way off. All he has left is his boxers. I can clearly see the imprint of he large cock through the thin fabric. I furrowed my eyebrows. âDoes it look too big?, we can stop now if we need toâ he questioned, seeing the fear on my face. I gulped and said âNo, I can take it.â
I continued stroking through his boxers and he moved my panties to the side and rubbed gently on my folds. I gasped at the feeling. The better it started to feel, the less and less I was able to focus on Jake and more on myself. He had me wrapped around his finger. No amount of masturbating could compare to the way he is making me feel within these few minutes.
He slid his fingers down my clit and inserted one. He pumped it in and out until I felt that I was ready for more. Then 2. It hurt a little more but I slowly got used to it. He leaned his head down while his fingers still stuffed me and started leaving kisses on my clit. For having so little experience, he worked his finger and tongue like a professional. The way his tongue danced across my sensitive bud made my body shutter, and I couldnât keep my mouth shut.
âI love the sounds of your whimpersâ he moaned against my clit teasing me. I couldnât even respond. My breathing quickened, and the more his fingers fucked me, the more I could tell how wet I was getting. I whimpered again and I gripped his hair signaling how good he was making me feel. âIt tastes just as sweet as I imaginedâ he praised. He has imagined this before? What else has he imagined?
His fingers slowed down and he slipped two inside of me simultaneously. My hips bucked up and I let out a small gasp, my nails digging into his shoulders. He continued working his fingers inside of me. He was eating like a man who hadnât seen a meal in a week.
âI want to taste you now.â I protest, pulling his face up for a kiss. His eyes look like he is drunk as his tongue swirled with mine and he gave me a slow deep kiss. He sucked on my bottom lip, then bit me, and finally opened his mouth and licked my tongue with his. He pulls away and allows me to pull his boxers past his hips and onto the ground. His dick sprung out. God, it was a lot thicker than I imagined.
I take the base of it and put my lips against the tip, swirling my tongue around. His muscular hand combs through the top of my hair and gently grips it as I begin to take more of his length in my mouth. I could feel it sliding smoothly in and out of my throat. His grip on my hair tightens and he guides me to take more in moderation. âGod yes baby, thatâs itâ he encouraged. I looked up at him, the room filled with breathy moans and he couldnât keep his mouth shut. I felt the waves of his voice vibrating through my lips as he spoke, causing goosebumps to erupt across my entire body. I could feel my juices flowing through my pussy and down my belly.
I continue sucking him until he is almost completely buried inside my mouth. He leans down placing his lips beside my ear. âI donât think I can hold out much longerâ he whispers, making me smile.
He slowly pulls himself out of my mouth and lifts me back onto the bed. I use my arms to cover my chest, I am a little nervous. He leans down and kisses me on the forehead. âDonât hide yourself, you look perfect darlingâ he said proceeding to take my tongue in his mouth. God this man loves using his tongue. I have never felt this type of intimacy before, and to think I am covering that ground with my bestfriend, was not how I thought it was going to go to say the least.
He brushes his tip in between my folds, spreading my wetness around. âAre you sure you want to keep going? We can stop here, just say the words and I will stopâ âPlease keep goingâ I am practically begging. He seems to enjoy my obvious desperation. He guide the tip in slowly, trying not to overwhelm me. He goes in a little deeper. I wince in pain. âAh baby go a little slowerâ I pleaded. I didnât want him to stop but it was definitely starting to hurt. He held the same spot for a few more seconds, then slowly pushed more in. I have gotten used to the stinging, as it slowly turns to pleasure.
âShit princess, youâre so fucking tightâ Jake praises. He was getting lost in his own world since he has never felt a warm pussy wrapped aroung his dick before, especially not one like mine. I felt his tip hit the enterance of my cervix. He bottomed out. He didnât move. He didnât even want to move, he was just enjoying the moment of his cock being buried deep inside his bestfriend. âYou ok babe?â he asked, concerned by the lack of movement from me. âYeah, just give me a secondâ I replied, attempting to get myself under control.
I began to relax, letting the warmth envelop my entire body. I signal that his is able to move. He slowly pulls his cock out of my cunt, and immediately pushes it back in. He rests both of his arms next to my face and comes down to kiss me. I can see the faint beads of sweat forming on his forehead. âYou do not know how long I have been wanting to do thisâ He whispered into my ear. Once again, Jakes words send a tingle down my spine. He instantly latched himself onto my neck, sucking harshly while still keeping a slow pace down below. I grip his brown head of hair as he leaves purple marks on my skin, bruising my neck. He pulls out and goes back in, this time at a consistent rate.
Our torsos are in complete contact and he sets both of his hands under my back. I wrap my legs around his waist to allow him deeper access, which he so desperately needed. His lips were locked with mine. Our tongues were dancing along with each other as well as our chests. Every time he would suck on my lower lip, I moan against his lips.
âThis is what I have been dreaming aboutâ He says breaking away and kissing my nose. He finds me comfortable with his picking up the pace, and he did with no hesitation. He nuzzles into my neck with his hair partially resting on my face. There was no pain left to feel and my whole body was washed over with pleasure. His length fit so perfectly into my warm cunt, like we were make to only fuck eachother.
Jake head still right next to mine, I turn my head and whisper âJakey, it feels so gooood~~~~â with inconsistency in my breathing. Jakeâs ears were pleasured as if he were listening to his favorite song. He slowed down the pace, only to drive his dick deeper into my swollen cunt with each thrust. âOh my god itâs feels so fucking good, you taking my cock like this.â he whines in my ear. He pulls away from my neck and just watching himself fuck into my pussy.
There was so much sweat on his face it was so fucking hot. It was dripping off his chin and onto my shoulder and neck. His hair was starting to get wet. He took both of my legs over his shoulders, making sure to maintain eye contact. Each stroke was deeper and deeper. Faster and faster. He was getting desperate. I donât know how much more my inexperienced pussy can handle. He takes his thumb and gently rubs my clit. Ugh, I have never felt this sort of sensation before, being fucked at the same time.
My moans became more uncontrollable and my legs started to close in. âFuckkkkk Jakey I am about to cumâ I am on the verge of tears, overstimulated with pleasure. The pressure on my clit mixed with the repeated abuse of my cervix was enough to drive me over the edge. âMmmmm yes doll, cum on my cockâ he says lowly. My walls tighten around him and my hips are shaking. My heart is beating at 1000bpm, not a coherent thought left in my fucked-dumb mind. He practically has to pry my legs apart to maintain access to my slit. He holds my hips in place as he gives me a few more strokes. His became less and less powerful.
Once he felt his orgasm coming, he quickly pulled out of me, letting out a loud groan, and shot his strings of white cum all over my tummy and chest. The room was filled with loud pants and the scent of sex. âYou are all I have ever wantedâ I reach up to tuck his hair behind his ear, not minding the fact that his face was soaked. We rest our foreheads together and rub our noses across each other as we both try to catch our breath.
After a second of recovery, He runs to the bathroom and grabs a rag to clean me up. I could barely move my body, my entire entity was more than sore. It hurt to move, all I could do is lay there. Jake returns with a cold washcloth, and starts wiping off my stomach. âDo you need help getting cleaned up babe?â he asks, sitting down beside me, his arm around my naked torso. âCould we take a bath together?â I suggested.
A bath together after the fact is far more intimate, and could give us some time to talk things over. âOf courseâ and smiles. âI can go get it set up right now, darling, you just rest for a few minutesâ He gives me a kiss on the nose and forehead before heading to run the faucet.
~~~~~~~~~~
I donât know how I could let this happen. I lay on my bed rerunning all of the events writhing the last hour in my head. I really donât know why we both allowed it to go that far. I admit, I loved every second of it, but now that itâs over, we have to deal with the effects.
Jake comes back from running the faucet. He looks tired. Maybe a bath is something we both need. âCome here sweetheartâ he brings a towel and sets it on the counter.
The bathroom mirror was completely fogged over. âAre you trying to make soup out of us?â I said jokingly. âI know you like taking your showers hot, so I thought maybe it would be the same for bathsâ he chuckled.
I dip my toes into the half full tub. Jake was right, the temperature was just how I liked it. I held onto his shoulder as I submerge my other foot. The water lapped over the rim of the bath tub.
I keep hold onto his hand so he can guide himself into the tub, taking a lot more balance and tolerance for him to try to get used to the boiling water. âGod damn, you like it hot hotâ he teases though I can see him furrowing his eyebrows at the heat.
âOh donât be such a babyâ I tease him right back. He pouts playfully. I love seeing that kind of reaction from him. âI donât mindâ he mumbles in embarrassment, trying to hide the smile on his face.
Once his feet were able to get used to the water, we both slowly sat the rest of our bodies into the tub. Jakes hair is a mess, itâs going in all different directions. I reach out to tuck some of it behind his ears for him, and then cup his face in my palm. I stroke his cheek with my thumb. He tilts his head, there he goes with those irresistible puppy dog eyes again.
âWhatâs wrong baby?â he asks. I remain in eye contact with him. âWere you being serious? When you said you have dreamt about⊠thatâŠ?â
Heâs silent. So much blood rushing to his face his cheeks are like strawberries. He scratched the back of his head. âI mean yeah⊠why wouldnât Iâ he hesitated.
âI mean look at you, you are insanely attractive and we live together and have known each other forever. Of course my mind is going to wonder. It has wondered many more times than I would like to admit.â he explained himself.
Unintentionally, our bodies kept inching towards each other in that bath. I am some how a mere 6 inches away from his face. âWhy havenât you ever told me how you felt?â
âBecause I was scared on how it would change our friendshipââŠ. he had the exact same fear as I did. He was also afraid of losing one of his best friends. âIf I tell you how I feel, you might think itâs weird or somethingâ he whispers into my ear. âNo I will understand, we have known each other our whole lives. How would it be weird?â I say softly.
He hesitates once again, and I can hear his heart start to pound. He closes the gap between us and rests his forehead on mine. âThere is so much you donât knowâ He breathes, still looking deep into my eyes. His words caused a flicker of anxiety inside of me. âThere is so much I want to know about you, darlingâ I reassure.
âWell for starters I never thought this thing between us would become anything more than just friendsâ he confesses. It is hard for him to admit such things, but he has to show me that I matter more than he thinks. âIt scares me, and Iâm sorry that I let it go too far. I guess itâs because Iâve been waiting so long, and everything has changed so fastâ he explained, he still had this worried look on his face like I were going to shut everything down. Everything had changed so fast.
âYou have to stop worrying so much about me. You can trust me, okay? Iâll never judge or hate you or think any differently of you. All I want is for us to enjoy our first time together and enjoy each other. I have never seen anyone as beautiful as you are to meâ. I caress his face with my hands.
A small smile graces his features while he gazes back into my eyes. I lean forward and capture him in a long passionate kiss. Our lips moving in sync, tasting each others taste as if it was our first time doing it. We pull away and stare at each other. He places both of his palms on either side of my face, leaning in even closer. I place my lips in line with his.
My fingers run through his soaked hair, though I donât know if it use from sweat or from water. âJakey, if I am going to be honest, I have been feeling the same way. On nights where we donât sleep in the same bed, I find myself getting less sleep and craving your warmth. I donât regret anything thatâs happened between us tonight. Admittedly, I have been wanting to do that with you for so longâ I started ranting.
âWhen you were making love to me I felt like I was floating away and it felt so good I just wanted to stay here forever, like nothing else mattered. There wasnât anything I wanted more than to stay in this moment forever with you, but we both know that isnât possible.â he continues, his voice cracking.
âMaking love?â I chuckle. Such an interesting word choice. âBe quietâ he pushes back. âIâm just joking, but I agreeâ
He was clearly getting tired, letting out a yawn and fighting the force of his eyelids trying to close. âWe should get to bedâ I suggest. We soak the last few moments of the now comfortably hot water and get out of the tub. âYou better not get water all over the floor, Jakeâ HE ALWAYS DOES THAT.
He grabs a towel for me and and one for himself and he wraps mine around my whole body width and pulls me for a hug. âI am glad we took a bath together sweetheart, try to get some restâ he whispers, and leaves an innocent kiss on my forehead.
~~~~~~~~~~
The next few weeks consisted of school, work, and sleeping in the same bed with Jake pretty much every single night. We would exchange passionate kisses and I would bathe him when he was too tired from work or hanging out with Jay. And he would do the same for me. We never went as far to have sex again. We werenât scared but we felt like we should wait.
We are on our way back to Australia for fall break. Jake will finally get to see his parents and I will get to see mine. We get to have a whole week without having to worry about responsibilities. Which I know both of us desperately need. We touch down in Australia around maybe 3pm on the first Saturday of the break. We only brought carry on luggage for convenience and time.
âHave everything?â He questioned me as we were getting out of our seats. âI think soâ I smile, so excited to see my parents. We arranged for Jakeâs mom to pick us up from the airport. She had a large SUV able to fit all of our stuff comfortably. Once we passed through all of the security and customs, Jake calls her to see where she is parked. On speaker I hear her say â9 rows down from the south enteranceâ she explains. âThanks mom, see you in a secâ Jake says about to hang up the phone. âThank you Mrs Simâ I make sure she hears before he presses the red button.
We hurry to get out of the packed airport so meet up with his mom. The weather was cold and misty and it was hard to see. When we finally arrived outside the south enterance, we could hardly believe what we saw. Layla comes up running at full sprint in me and Jakeâs direction. She jumped up onto bother of us, layering our faces and arms with slobbery licks and he tail wagging so hard it may as well had fallen off.
Once Layla was all calmed down we put our luggage into the trunk. We swing up the door and the vehicle seems oddly empty. âWhere is dad?â Jake questioned his mom. âHe is getting worseâŠ. he wasnât able to make it today, I had to take him back to the hospital last nightâ she explained. I could already see the heart break in his eyes. âOhâ We packed everything up and his mom offered for me to sit in the front seat. Honestly, I wanted to sit in the back seat and comfort Jake, so I made up the excuse that Layla should sit in the front.
The mood in the car ride home was off. I donât know if it was from the weather or his fathers health but Jake was not as energetic as he was before. I know he doesnât deserve everything happening to his dad so I will just try to support him through it.
~~~~~~~~~~
I never really gave it much thought, but the more I put the pieces together, I think maybe the reason Jake is so insistent on getting black out drunk with Jay on the weekends may have to do with his father.
Jake has never in his life had a healthy coping mechanism. I remember a lot through out grade school, he would feel guilty or take blame for things that were not his fault, just to mediate the situation. When he did this, he did not react to the discipline very well, but it seems like he would much rather face conveniences than to start an argument over the original problem.
Jake let a lot of people take advantage of him, and it is still something that we have to work on, but knowing the situation with his dad, I know he has a lot more things to worry about now that usual.
Many of the people excluding his parents are alcoholics, any family event we went to together, the main thing being passed around was a bottle. When we were younger, things made him build resentment towards them but the older we got, the more willing he was to try alcohol, only adding more and more each time until he is where he is at now.
Jay isnât the type of friend to stop this behavior either. I will never understand why Jake is such good friends with him cause he never seems to have the best intentions or good interest in mind. I canât be the one to tell him that they should stop being friends cause at the end of the day, Jakeâs relationship with alcohol wonât be healed in a split second.
~~~~~~~~~~
Nothing really eventful happened over the span of the after noon, the rain put everything to a halt. I slept in the guest bed in Jakeâs house for the first night but was unable to fall asleep for the majority of the night. Jakeâs mom rushed into the room around 1:30 am.
âHey are you awake? We have to go the hospital, itâs my husband. Please wake up Jake while I grab the keysâ She said with an extremely shaken voice full of urgency. I shoot out of the bed and put my shorts back on and practically run down the hallway to Jakeâs room. It is locked. I bang on the door frantically. âJake! Jake get up now we have to goâ I echo through the door. Quickly after he swings open his door with his shirt in his hand, in the middle of putting it on.
The SUV was already started when we got out the front door and we ran to get into the car and soon as we sat down she reversed and tried to explain. âHe slipped into a coma. They said they are trying everything to get him to wake up but they have no idea why it happened because he was in decent shape beforeâ she says with tears forming in her eyes.
I reach up to the front seat to scratch her shoulder to try and calm her. I donât think there is anything someone can do in this situation to calm someone in this much distress down but I tried. She is going dangerously fast down the highway. I know that she has been working hard to keep them afloat and thing weâre starting to get better. After that I couldnât stand to listen anymore and closed my eyes hoping that by some miracle she wouldnât end up killing us.
After what seemed like hours we reached the hospital and were quickly taken to another private room where we could talk with him alone. Of course his dad wasnât going to be able to say anything. But Jake still wanted him to listen. He took his fathers hand a caressed his palm with his fingers while he said what he needed to say. Once he was done, I gave Jake a hug as his red face were completely covered in tears.
âHe will be okay, I promiseâ I reassured him. We walked out of the room to discover his mom sitting next to the window, face completely void of emotion. He hasnât spoken a word since we have gotten here.
âYou knowâŠ. he was really excited for you both to come back. He was practically counting down the daysâ she admitted, wiping a tear from here eye. âI was so excited with himâ she added. Her words shatter my heart. How is she not screaming in anger right now. Angry at the world for doing this to her innocent husband. That was something I admired about her. She was always able to contain her emotions well, almost too well.
Seeing both her and Jake in this state was absolutely terrible. I knew it would only take a miracle to fix this given his dads condition. âItâll all be okay, Jake, donât cryâ I assure him. âIt wonât, how am I supposed to deal with this? How am I supposed to go back to school without seeing him, talking to him⊠it hurtsâ âThere is still a chance that he will make it Jake, donât give up on it. I know he wants you to wait for himâ
He couldnât say anything, all he could do was bury his face into my shoulder and sob. He tried to form words, but they were only choked noises which caused him to cry even harder. âShh its okay, I am hereâ I assure him. Me, Jake and his mom spent the night in the hospital. His mom slept in the room with his dad and me and Jake slept in a guest waiting room. Well, I was the only one who was able to get some sleep. Jake was up all night worrying about his father. I could hear him crying as I were trying to fall asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~
A few weeks had passed and his fathers condition remained the same, and to be honest, Jake and his mom seemed like they kind of accepted that this was the way that things were going to be.
We were back at the house, his mom would just go to work and lock herself in her room until she had to go to work again and Jake and I were preparing to go back to Korea for the Winter semester.
Mrs Sim did not want to see us leave, and she made it very clear. We were her last hope with everything going on with her husband. I really wish me and Jake could stay back to support her but we have jobs and bills that we have to get back to, and life canât just pause for us. We promised we would let her know how we are feeling, how much we missed each other and everything else that went along with saying goodbye.
We leave in 3 days, and we made it our mission to hang out with his mom as much as we could before we left. She hasnât taken a break either⊠no time to her self she just has to keep working to pay for the house and the piling medical bills.
Those last few days, we took Mrs. Sim out for lunch at her favorite Thai restaurant. She seemed to genuinely smile for the first time in weeks as we joked and reminisced about times when all 4 of us were together. One night, we rented some classic movies she loved and made her favorite snacks. We cuddled up on the couch, enjoying the familiar feeling of just being together as a family again, if only briefly.
Jake and I helped around the house as much as we could - running errands, doing yard work, and cooking meals to give his mom a little respite. We made sure to soak in every moment because we didn't know when we'd all be together like that again.
~~~~~~~~~~
When it came time for our early morning departure back to Korea, Mrs. Sim took us both in for a tight hug, her eyes brimming with tears. "Take care of each other," she whispered hoarsely.ââââââââââââââââ Jake grabs our suitcases out of the trunk and his mom pulls me to the side.
âPlease promise to take care of him for me. You have always been a safe place for him, I can only imagine how he has been feelingâ she begged. I held bother of her hands in the palms of mine. âI promise, Mrs Sim, I will do everything in my power to take care of him, donât worry. You have other things to worry aboutâ I reassure her pulling her into a hug.
Layla climbs through the back of the car from the front seat and jumps out of the trunk to say good bye, jumping all over me and Jake just like when we first arrived. âYes youâre such a good girlâ he scruffs up her ears while giving her a kiss on the forehead. I gave Layla some belly rubs before his mom guided her back into the car.
âPlease text me when you board, and call me when you land, I need to know that the two of you are safe.â said his mom. âOf courseâ we pulled her into one last hug. âI love you guysâ she sobbed âI love you tooâ we said in unison as we walked towards to enterance, leaving his mom in the parking lot.
~~~~~~~~~~
The ride back home was hard for Jake. 10 hours of restlessness. The only time I saw Jake act kind of okay was at our layover in Manila. I tried to leave him be for most of the trip.
-
We landed at the airport in Seoul and made our way back through customs and immigration, I swear the process of getting out of the airport is more stressful than planing a trip itself. We load our things into my car, missing the excitement that Layla brought to the car ride.
Before we got into the car, Jake comes behind me and turns me around into a hug. âI am really worried about her⊠my parents have been together for so long I canât imagine how she would react with out himâ he cried into my arms. âYour mom is a strong woman, I know it. She has you and I know she will be able to get through it.â I rub his back and lay my head into the crook of his neck.
I walk him over to his door and open it, letting him get into is and rest, we still had a 45 minute drive back to our place. I just let him ârestâ his eyes the whole way and I sat in silence trying not to wake him. The ride was bumpy, or maybe I was more aware of my surroundings not given that Jake wasnât talking my ear off the whole time. I donât mean it as a bad thing but he does a great job at keeping me company in the car. But that element was absent this time.
We were outside of our house quicker than expected. Jake was still fast asleep, he looked up he most peaceful than I have seen him these past few weeks I really did not want to wake him up. âJakey weâre hereâ I whisper and gently grip his shoulder. He groans. He untucks his arms from under his shirt and rubs his eyes, trying to adjust to the light.
We make way up to the door, he didnât bother grabbing anything out of the car but I was completely okay with grabbing everything if it meant he would get some rest. As soon as we stepped in the door, he took off his shoes and hurried to his bedroom, he didnât ever bother changing his clothes before plopping onto his bed in pure exhaustion.
I found myself following him to the bed and sitting on the edge and grazing his back with my fingernails. My hands made way up to his hair and I combed his strands with my fingers. He turns over to lay on his back and I sit and admire his beautiful face while his eyes are closed. So peaceful. I couldnât fight the urge to lean down and give his a soft peck before heading back to the car.
He didnât seem to mind, his lips were soft as they instantly melted into mine for a few seconds. He didnât seem supprised or shocked at all. He made it feel natural. âThank youâ he said, barely audible. I leaned in for another kiss, a smile building on my face as our lips met. No verbal response was needed, my smile against his spoke for itself.
~~~~~~~~~~
We had gotten back into our normal work and school schedule following the break. I still was not seeing Jake as much as I would like and it seems like I was getting less and less information by the day on his dad, which worried me. I tried to call Mrs Sim every single day to check in and get updates, as well as update her on mine and Jakeâs life. She treated me like a friend. Like a daughter. I am very thankful to be accepted by her in that way.
Jake was clearly getting more stressed with work and school and I couldnât figure out a way to ease the stress for him, all I could do was hope that it wouldnât end up being too much.
Mrs Sim told me briefly once while we were on a phone call that me and her call way more often that her and Jake do. Jake has always been a texter and his Mom simply had to deal with not hearing her baby boys voice as often as she would like, which is why it was weird when me and Jake were laying in my bed around 11pm and his phone starts ringing.
Both of us were on the verge of falling asleep and the light from his phone screen made the situation more uncomfortable. At first Jake just reached over and turned off the ringer.
âHey did you even see who it was? What if it was importantâ I question his instinct to end the call. âFine let me lookâ he groans.
He reached over and grabs his phone and looks at the screen âMomâ is what it read. âAnswer it!â I urged him. Jake was hesitant. I think he thought that this was going to be the call, which he has been preparing to avoid at all costs.
Instead of letting the line go to voicemail, I snatch the phone out of his hand and answer if myself. âHello Mrs Sim, is everything alright?â
âI am so glad to hear your voice. Is Jake around? It is important. Put it on speakerâ she said.
âYouâre on speakerâ I informed her.
âJake, your father is home, I picked him up about an hour ago. The doctor said that septic shock caused him to go into the coma, and they were able to treat the infection and keep him steady with some blood and IV fluids. He woke up yesterday and has shown no signs of complication ever since. I will take him back in a few days for testing and a check up. They saved him Jake⊠They saved him.â His mother explained ecstatically, crying tears of happiness.
Jakeâs face immediately lit up, with what I could see from the light of the phone screen. He instantly started crying.
âBaby I wish you were here right now. he misses you so muchâ he claimed.
Jake couldnât even speak through his tears and his hitched breathing. âI love you so much mom, tell dad I love him and I will see him soonâ
He sets the phone down and buries his face into my chest, letting out full on sobs. the toll that this situation has taken on his body physically and mentally was very obvious and I know he has been wanting good news.
~~~~~~~~~~
Weeks had passed and we came back to Australia for the Winter break. Jake was more excited than ever. When he saw his dad get out of the car at the airport, I had never see Jake run so fast in my life. Their hug seemed like it was out of a movie and he had been latched to his dad everyday since being back at his house.
His parents kind of picked up on me and Jakeâs relationship, and didnât question why I was wanting to sleep in Jakeâs room and not the guest room any more.
We were laying there facing each other, admiring each others beauty in the dim moon light shining through the blinds.
âTell me Jake, do you believe in fate?â I questioned lowly.
He looks somewhat startled. âYâknow, I have never really thought about that. After everything that has happened this year, I think I would say that I doâ he confirmed, stroking my cheek with his thumb.
âYeah I think I do tooâ

Pleasure - Prof!Tom Riddle (smut)
Just a small Drabble about our fave fucked up, dark professor. Please like and reblog if you enjoyed reading this, your comments keep us writers motivated! Enjoy my loves. xxx
Summary: Professor Riddle threatens to fail the reader, something she wonât accept. Just pwp
Warnings: 18+, smut, piv, choking, degrading, orgasm denial, Tom being Tom, power imbalance
Pairing: Prof!Tom Riddle x fem!student!reader (1.2k words)
âYou threaten to fail me? Are you out of your mind?â Her voice boomed through the class room, eyes set on the professor whose assistant she had been for the past months now. His piercing eyes didnât meet hers, he kept his gaze set on the papers, correcting the homework she had collected minutes ago. All before he had dropped this bomb on her, telling (y/n) that she was about to fail his class. âLook at me!â
âCareful, (y/n).â His eyes snapped up to meet hers, voice sharper than a knife. He leaned back in the chair, arms crossed in front of his chest while staring at her like a snake about to snap at its prey. He had always been a dangerous man, a man whose aura was a warning itself, set on pulling her into his dark trap. But today he had something else to him, something even more ruthless.
âTell me why!â She was fuming, set on letting go of a piercing scream. This must be a joke, a prank he was pulling on her - her grades were better than most, she was always on time, and when she was working for him, she did everything he asked of her.
âI donât owe you any explanations. And your behaviour proves to me that youâre not mature enough to work on it. Leave.â (Y/n) didnât move, she kept staring at Professor Riddle who slowly rose to his feet. A part of her screamed at her to leave, to run before it was too late, but the more stubborn part forced her to stand still and watch his every move. âIs this how you want to play? This is my last warning, (y/n).â
Her body was trembling in anger and need, all while her mind brought back flashes of a similar moment that had happened weeks ago. Back then she had left this room with trembling thighs and his handprint burned into her behind. The following hours had been spent hidden away in her room while pushing herself over the edge numerous times with his name burning on the tip of her tongue.
âI am not scared of you.â She cocked her head, chin pointed in his direction while she looked up at him. It was a foolish game she was playing - a game she was about to lose, but she didnât care, couldnât worry about any wins or losses, knowing that whatever would happen between them would count as a win in her book.
âYou should be.â His ringed hand found her throat, tugging (y/n) in for a teeth clashing kiss. She moaned into the touch, unable to stop her hands from wandering, from finding the back of his neck to keep him close. (Y/n) felt her surroundings spin, throwing her into another dimension while the professor moved her backwards to heave his TA onto his table. With her legs wrapped around his waist, (y/n) kept him close, not daring to think of parting just yet. âYou try to distract me with those pretty little things you wear, you try to make a fool out of me, but youâll never have this much power over me. Youâre mine, (y/n), Iâm the one guiding you.â
She could only moan in delight, feeling his hand disappear beneath her skirt to press his fingertips against her clothed heat. Slowly, he began to circle her bundle through the fabric of her panties, feeling them grow damp beneath his touch. A soft chuckle let him, buzzing through both their bodies while his lips moved down her throat, sucking on the spots that drew moans from her.
âYouâve been asking for it for months, so now youâll take my cock like the desperate slut you are. But I wonât let you cum, not this afternoon.â His words drew a protesting moan from (y/n), eyes wide while she stared at him. No words managed to pass her parted lips, unsure how to speak up as the sounds reaching her distracted (y/n).
Within seconds he had freed his cock, pushing a condom down his length before her panties were tugged aside. Her fingernails left crescent marks on the spot where his shoulder met his neck as he pushed into her, forcing her tight walls to adjust to him. A part of her wanted to beg him to slow down, to give her some moments to relax before taking all of him, but that part didnât get a chance to speak up, silenced by her loud moans.
Professor Riddle fucked her ruthlessly, he was using her body, set on chasing his own high while sticking to his promise. Tonight he wouldnât let her cum, at least not for a few hours before finding his way to her.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, dripping from her chin onto the back of his hand which was still holding her throat. She was torn between focusing on the way he perfectly stretched her, about to push her over the edge, and the way he held onto her all too possessively, leaving her heart jumping in excitement.
âThis is why I need to keep you around, love.â The nickname had a condescending touch to it, leaving her gasping while she tried to focus on his words. âYouâre all for me to use, all for my own pleasure.â
(Y/n) nodded her head while another gasp left her, head wanting to roll back - though without any luck as he kept holding onto her. She felt his cock tearing her apart with every thrust, drunk on the feeling of him fucking her this posessively. With moans ripping their way through her, she clawed at his skin, giving into the subconscious need to mark him up to have the same claim on him.
âWhat would you ever do without me, huh? Youâre so needy, such a pathetic little girl.â She was close to letting go, high on the low tones of his raspy voice, on the way he spoke to her with spite and adoration dripping from his tongue. With one hand still clinging to him, she let the other find her pulsing bundle, circling it a few times to give herself the needed push. Something he instantly stopped her from doing after a second or two.
âI told you I wonât let you cum for now. I donât make empty threats, love.â More tears fell from her eyes as she stared up at Professor Riddle. Her walls clenched his cock, hoping to pull him into her trap - something he didnât seem to care for as he pulled out of her to cum on her thighs.
âYouâll wait for me tonight, and perhaps if youâre good, Iâll let you cum.â

thank you all sm <3
ONCE SUMMER START, I WILL BE MORE ACTIVE SO THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT WITH ME đ€§â€ïž
i love you so so much istg
2:47 AM
pairings: dad!yunho x gn!reader
genre: fluffy fluff fluff fluff :3
warnings: just yunho and his daughter.... nothing much.
word count: 0.8k
synopsis: it's always the little things that make yunho come to the conclusion that he is truly the luckiest man on earth.
::note: this was just an impulsive write ;-; so ik it sucks :))
Yunho really did take a while to come back in his body after being interrupted from his well-deserved sleep after hearing the loud clash of glass hitting the ground. His mind clattered with the unanswered shower thoughts that swam through his head and foggy with sleep.
The moment Yunho's feet pressed down on the soild wood floor, the goosebumps instantly became making their rightful place on his skin.
Both out of pure alert that someone might have broken in to leave with treasured beauties they will soon just sell off for some green, but also because the floor was freezing.
But now that his brain was more functional and thinking half logical thoughts, he pushed himself out of bed and made sure to make calculated steps to the main area that contained the living room and the kitchen. Each step his feet made was careful as to not creak the false floor board that will let out a high-pitched groan; sure to wake up the whole house.
But the man really didn't know what to expect when he did find himself in the main area.
His mind that painted a masked intruder rummaging through whatever they could get their hands on was soon erased magnificently the moment his eyes made contact with a much more smaller, petite, figure that sat on the edge of the kitchen island.
All he could do was sigh, flicking up the light switch that powered on the kitchen golden glow to finally reveal his daughter putting up a sandwich in a plastic bag and a step stool place right underneath where her feet hanged and dangled.
The little one froze, sandwich midway in the bag as she made eye contact with her father who just stared back at her. A raised eyebrow asking the unspoken question of "why are you awake at almost 3 AM?"
"Garam," started the father, his face unreadable. "Darling, it's late. Why are you up on a school night?" Yunho scanned the tensed shoulders of his little girl, patiently waiting for a response.
"Umm...," The 5-year old hesitated, glancing down at the sliced turkey that sticks out of the 2 slices of bread and the dribble of mustard that made its home on the ziploc. "Making lunch..." The girl paused.
Yunho mouth opened to voice his disapproval since he could have just made a lunch for her in the morning like he always did before she went to school, but he was soon shut down into a puddle after Garam continued running the sentence out of her mouth, "Making a lunch for you,"
The once unreadable expression soon had words splattered all around. Words that expressed pure softness, adoration, every word you will think while looking at a newborn bundled with blankets.
"It's almost done! I just need to write you a note!" Garam squealed out. Hurriedly finishing her mission putting the lone sandwich in its rightful place. Well... before being gobbled down and finding it's rightful place in Yunho's stomach.
Yunho was almost at a loss of words. He couldn't even come to himself to give Garam that parental talk of how unhealthy and brain rotting waking up at such an ungodly is. All he could do was watch as she laid down the now wrapped sandwich into another, bigger, plastic bag that was full of other foods: An energy drink, a candy bar, pretzel mix, and many more goodies that will power him through majority of the day.
A piece of paper was soon joining the food items in the bag. Garam adjusted herself on her stomach, sliding down on the step stool and reached her arms out for her father.
The greenish puddle mixed with glass and pickles separated the father-daughter duo.
A small shake of his head with a smile as bright as the many stars that casted down appeared once again, Yunho careful to not severaly damage his foot in trying to bring down the small intruder of the night.
"Only read the note at lunch time!" A small pout now present on the girl's face was all it took for him to agree to the simple task at hand.
"And you never wake up at this time again," Yunho remarked right back at Garam to which she just whined and hid her face in the crook of her father's neck.
To say the least, Yunho for sure (sarcastically) enjoyed picking up the mess his daughter made only a few hours after he joined you back in bed and he definitely (not sarcastically) enjoyed when his lunch break came.
Yunho was mid-bite into the smoshed sandwich before a curious Wooyoung appeared behind him, glancing over the older broad shoulders.
"What's the note?" Wooyoung peeked into the bag, up to steal anything that could be hiding inside.
Yunho totally forgot about the small piece of paper Garam mentioned.
But thank god for Wooyoung's sleek attempt to steal any snack he was trying to find because without his careless reminder, he would not have read,
"Why do you have to leave for work again :( i miss you. Work always take you away from me and mommy :( but that's ok! because you make alot and alot and alot of monez! i love you daddy! bai c:"
All Yunho could do was just beam down at the messily written note. His heart swelling with pink ropes of love and rapidly pumping blood through his veins. If you were to see him, you would almost believe hearts made its way to his eyes and visualize the hearts appearing above his head.
The small image of last night. Garam clapping after making her creation for her dad and the small dances while Yunho led her back into her room.
He surely was the luckiest man in the world.
did you enjoy you order?

Hey, Horrormaster Sims. I have a wildly different question that barely relates to TMA (Sorry about that) but its about your own process. Please, if you could, can you tell me how your first drafts made you feel? I'm on the fence about writing my own thing (not a podcast, and again, not Magnus related, though I have a million little aus for that delightful tragedy you wrote, thank you for that!) But I'm discouraged by the collective notion that first drafts are always terrible, because there's no ... examples I can solidly use to help the dumb anxiety beast in my brain that tells me everyone who is in any way popular popped out a golden turd and not, well, you know. One of my friends said 'Oh I bet Jonathan Sims's first draft was nothing like what he wanted' and I got the bright idea to just. Send you an ask, since you're trapped on this hellsite like I am. Anyway, thanks for reading this (if you do) and if you'd rather ask it privately, I am cool with that. Alternatively, you're a hella busy man with Protocol (you and Alex are making me rabid, i hope you know) and you can just ignore this! Cheers, man, and good words.
To my mind all writing advice, especially stuff that's dispensed as truisms (like "first drafts are always garbage") are only useful inasmuch as such advice prompts you to pay attention to how you write best: what helps your workflow, what inspires you, what keeps you going through the rough bits. There are as many different ways to write (and write well) as there are people who write and so always consider this sort of thing a jumping off point to try out or keep in mind as you gradually figure out your own ways of writing.
On first drafts specifically, I think the wisdom "all first drafts are bad" is a bit of unhelpful oversimplification of the fact that, deadlines notwithstanding, no piece of writing goes out until you decide its ready, so don't get too hung up on your first draft of a thing, because a lot of writers find it much easier to edit a complete work than to try and redraft as they go. It's also important to not let perfectionism or the fact your initial draft isn't coming out exactly how you want stop you from actually finishing the thing, as it's always better to have something decent and done than to have something perfect and abandoned.
But the idea of a "first draft" is also kind of a fluid one. The "first draft" you submit to someone who's commissioned you will probably be one you've already done a bunch of tweaks and edits to, as opposed to the "first draft" you pump out in a frenzy in an over-caffeinated weekend. For my part, my first drafts tend to end up a bit more polished than most, because I'm in the habit of reading my sentences out loud as I write them (a habit picked up from years of audio writing) so I'll often write and re-write a particular sentence or paragraph a few times to get the rhythm right before moving to the next one. This means my first drafts tend to take longer, but are a bit less messy. I'm also a big-time planner and pretty good at sticking to the structures I lay out so, again, tend to front load a lot of stuff so I get a better but slower first draft.
At the end of the day, though, the important thing is to get in your head about it in a good way (How do I write best? what helps me make writing I enjoy and value? What keeps me motivated?) and not in a bad way (What if it's not good enough? What if everyone hates it? What if it doesn't make sense?) so that you actually get it done.
As for how my first drafts made me feel? Terrible, every one of 'em No idea if that's reflective of their quality, though, tbh - I hate reading my own writing until I've had a chance to forget it's mine (I can only ever see the flaws). I suppose there's theoretically a none-zero chance they were pure fragments of True Art and creative perfection, but Alex's editing notes make that seem unlikely.

Earlier this week I reported on the very depressing for-profit fic pirating happening in certain corners of fandomâbut (somewhat coincidentally, timing-wise) I also had the joy of reporting this story on fanbinding, and the work of the @renegadeguild! Featuring the words (and fanbinds) of the brilliant @celestial-sphere-press, @butterfingersbookbinding, and @fanboundbooks (who also talked about Renegade on the most recent Fansplaining episode).
Renegade's binders are strong proponents of the non-monetized gift economyâthey truly embody the spirit of fanfiction, in my opinion, both in the communal way they share their work with fic writers and each other, and in the DIY way they approach making books:
Thereâs a strong parallel between the amateur, instinctive nature of fanfiction and the act of fanbinding. While plenty of fic is penned by formally trained writers, much of it is not. Tiffo, who binds as Fanboundbooks, likens the reverse-engineering involved in teaching oneself both activities. As writers, people try to figure out why stories work. Fanbinders collectively share the process of learning to turn that work into a physical objectâtactile, clean, often beautiful. Fic is largely unencumbered by the forms and structures of traditional publishing, and fanbinders approach their work with the same spirit. âPeople will often say, âHow do I do this?â or âWhatâs the rule for this?ââ Tiffo says. âThe answer that we always try to throw in Renegade is, âThis is what other people have done, but know that there is no rule to your bookâyou can make whatever you want.ââ
It's a shame seeing people conflate the bad actors of the pirating situationâmany of whom don't appear to be in fandom and seem motivated by pure profitâwith the work of fanbinders at large, and seeing people scared to try out fanbinding because of the recent news. Not-for-profit fanbinding is just as legal as writing fanfiction, and I don't speak for all fic writers, but if someone ever bound one of my fics, I'd be so touched I would almost definitely weep. đ

My Thoughts on Solas in *Dragon Age: The Veilguard* (DATV)
Itâs been about a month since I played Dragon Age: The Veilguard and I finally feel ready to talk about Solas. Yes, *that* Solasâthe one whoâs sparked endless debates in the Dragon Age fandom for over a decade, inspiring some of the most fascinating character analyses Iâve ever read. Unfortunately, the Solas we get in DATV feels like a shadow of his former self. Instead of the nuanced and controversial figure we know, heâs been reduced to a one-dimensional scapegoat with inconsistent writing that just didnât do him justice.
Solas has always been such a compelling characterâcomplex, flawed, and full of contradictions. But in DATV, the trickster archetype, he represented, was so poorly handled that I sometimes wondered if the characters in the game and I were even getting the same information. Take the moments when we uncover Solasâ memories: the reactions from other characters came across as weirdly more venomous toward Solas than even Elgarânan, who was a literal tyrant. It felt like (some of?) the writers were trying to strip away any sympathy for Solas, but if anything, it had the opposite effect, if we judge from the percentage of people who chose to redeem him. (Pro tip for game writers: players donât like being told how to feel about a character!)
Now, donât get me wrongâIâm not here to excuse Solasâ actions. Heâs done some truly awful things. But reducing his complexity to make him easier to blame? Thatâs not it. What made Solas fascinating wasnât just his lies, treachery or rebellion but his wisdom and the fact that he cared too much. Even when he convinced himself the people of modern Thedas werenât âreal,â he still supported acts of kindness and mourned unnecessary loss. That sentimentality made him sympathetic, even while he was pursuing some pretty despicable goals. Itâs that balanceâthe caring, sentimental dreamer weighed down by his own ruthlessness âthat made Solas the perfect trickster figure and harbinger of change.
Thatâs why some of the decisions in DATV just didnât sit right with me. Solas has always been willing to sacrifice others for his ideals, but that includes himselfâ*especially* himself. Dinâan Shiral, anyone? The reveal about Varric should have been this devastating, mind-blowing moment, but instead, it felt cheap. Solas manipulating Rook by hiding Varricâs death? Totally in character. But actively using blood magic to control their mind? That felt like a shortcut, and a boring one at that. Especially, after those heated debates he had with the Iron Bull in Inquisition about how important freedom of thought is for him.
This was such a missed opportunity to dive into heavier themes like the manifestation of regret and griefâboth of which wouldâve made Rook more tragic and relatable. What I wanted to see from Solas, was a tragic hero whoâd fought for so long he ended up becoming the villain. Not unlike his mortal enemy ElgarâNan. What I got instead was a caricature of the trickster archetype, stripped of all the depth we saw in Trespasser.
Another thing that bugged me was how DATV framed Solasâ rebellion. The in-game conversations by the Veilguard team seem to suggest that he started it out of spite toward Mythal and/or Elgarânan, which just isnât true. Solas rebelled because he believedâto be more precise convinced himselfâthat the Evanuris were waging war on the Titans in the name of freedom. And realising that this wasnât the actual motive was his first attempt to âfixâ his mistakes. In other words the part he played in the war, and at the same time protect his people from tyrany the worst of fates in his eyes. Thatâs such a crucial part of his story, and seeing it misinterpreted by the cast, felt like such a disservice to the complexity of the character.
Thatâs not to say everything about Solas in DATV was bad. The dialogue was exquisite and stood out as classic Solas, especially when it came to the contrast between his wisdom and cunning or the need to offer guidance vs the manipulation (props to Trick for really nailing those moments). The animations were incredible, too, and perfectly captured his aura. And, of course, Gareth David-Lloyd absolutely killed it as Solas. His performance brought so much life to the character, even when during the moments when the writing fell short.
Still, I canât help but feel disappointed. Solas has always been my favorite DA character, and seeing him reduced like this was frustrating. Heâs a character built on contradictionsâsentimental but ruthless, idealistic but pragmatic, sympathetic yet maddening. DATV had the chance to explore all of that and take him to new depths, but instead, it just⊠didnât. And as a fan whoâs loved his journey for years, thatâs hard to swallow. Needless to say I would still devour any novel or media about him, because Iâm definitely left wanting more from his story.

I always hated the idea of Vander coming back as Warwick, as I felt it would cheapen the impact of his death in S1E3. I'm not a fan of characters coming back from the dead in general. But when I saw Warwick's video game voice lines, I was intrigued. I could definitely see how the show could find a way to make his return impactful and play a very interesting role in Vi's arc. Though I was still skeptical, the game dialogue gave me hope that the show could explore Vander's past and Vi's character in a cool way. Only for Season 2 to throw all that potential away.
"I became the monster I always was. Zaun gave me claws long before you did."
The monster he always was. Because as much as Season 2 contradicts itself and the show writers behind the scenes paint Vander as always having been a pacifist, it wasn't what was established in Season 1. This is told to us by the visuals (Vander attacking Silco in his youth and then killing enforcers on the bridge), Marcus ("You weren't always the peace keeper, were you?"), and Vander himself ("I'm not that man anymore"). All confirmation that Vander had a dark past, one where he was such a violent aggressive man to earn the nickname Hound of the Underground. After his devastating defeat and losses on the Day of Ash, he stamped that violent rage down and made peace with topside. Because he thought it was the only way to protect innocents and keep kids from being orphaned by Piltover. The present Vander we meet in Season 1 has already undergone massive character growth. Then there are his lines to Vi and Jinx.
With Jinx there's faint recognition and despair. And his lines to Vi are so juicy. His disappointment in her! The fact that he made a pact with the enforcers to minimize their crackdowns on Zaun and prevent bloodshed, only for Vi to join those same enforcers and aid in their crackdowns! Causing collateral damage to innocents, orphaning kids, and even getting kids themselves killed. What would make it even more juicy is if Vi's decision to join them was motivated by desire to avenge Vander! And if she excused her class treason by comparing it to Vander's pact with Grayson. Imagine thinking you're honouring your father's memory, then his literal reanimated corpse shows up and says "no girl wtf are you doing". Not to mention his last words to her was "take care of Powder". And now she'd be all uniformed up to arrest her sister for topsiders.
Vi could have come face to face with her demons in the form of Warwick. She could have recognized that she was becoming the rage-filled violent monster Vander used to be, and what he was eventually turned into after his death. Something he never would have wanted for her. She could have realized how much she lost herself. Warwick should have been her kill. Setting Vander free and at the same time killing her own demons and rage. Instead they don't use any of this rich material from the game. Vi gets no major character arc and no introspection. She doesn't even get to piece together Vander and Silco's past, because Season 2 makes the retcon that she apparently always knew Silco. So much potential wasted, and now I feel vindicated in my original assessment that Vander should have stayed dead. If they weren't going to do anything interesting with Warwick, then that furry could have just been omitted the way Camille and a bunch of other Piltover/Zaun champions were.

Hi Mr. Gaiman (sorry for the ramble in advance),
Hope you're doing well. I don't usually use tumblr, but every time I open it up you're here so I figure I'd drop a note. I'm a writer, but I've always had a really hard time actually WRITING instead of just thinking about it. I've had this world and its characters plaguing my head for years now, and it's only gotten worse with age, so recently I doubled down and decided it was gonna get doneâone way or the other.
I recently read a passage in a book about writing that said, in essence, your first book doesn't really matter all that much if you plan to be an author. As an autistic lad, I (naturally) took this very literally and was upset at the thought. Sure, your first work is probably going to be your weakestâduh, because by the time book two rolls around you'll have had time to have faced any criticisms from your first, you'll have learned more as you write, and about the world too. But for your first book to not matter at all, no matter how passionate you are about itâI found myself wondering, "Well, what's the point at all, then?" You put in all that work, you learn plot devices, you breathe life into your characters and watch 'em toddle around, and for what? For it to just be a stepping stone? It felt intensely personal of it just being cast aside like that, and I haven't even written the damn thing yet!
MasterClass had a Father's Day sale, so I figured "why not" and went ahead and got a subscription. First thing I did was run to your class, and although I've only watched the first two partsâI want to thank you for restoring my motivation. Truth is, I think the reason that message in the writing book upset me so much is because I'm terrified of writing this damn book. I've woven so many pieces of myself into it, despite it very much being, in your words, a lie (and about a boy that lies all the time, no less), but the grief that I feel and all the complicated feelings about forgiveness are all there and very real, despite its fantastical elements. So much of it really IS more than I'm comfortable sharing with people, and the idea of baring all that out and being told it didn't matter at all? Absolutely devastating. At the end of the line? The book might actually suck. I might rewrite it, I might trash it, I might completely forget about it ten years from now, or I might sell ten copies on Amazon to family and friends and then move on with my life. It's not stepping on a yellow jacket nest in the woods, but it's still terrifying. I still can't even fathom the idea of letting anyone actually read it until I've obsessed over it for another four years, and even then! But I'll write it anyways.
Thank you.
You are so welcome!

Katara and Mutuality in Relationships
There are lots of conflicting opinions about which characters Katara felt attraction towards, which characters she didnât, and how long she felt that attraction. I see in most cases, people point to quick clips of her faintly blushing or kissing another character on the cheek as evidence, but I think these kind of takes miss the nuance of the purpose attraction serves in a story.
Most importantly, I see these characters treated as if they are actually people capable of making their own decisions. Itâs important to remember that these are fictional characters. They donât make their own choices; the writers make their choices for them for the purpose of telling a story. From that standpoint, itâs more valuable to examine how a characterâs story and narrative themes tie into their relationships with other characters. Animators can shove in a kiss or a blush wherever they want, but itâs harder to demonstrate through storytelling how and why two characters might feel attraction towards one another, and how a relationship between them would develop both characters and contribute to the overarching themes of the story.
In other words, when discussing which characters Katara is âattractedâ to, Iâm discussing which relationships and actions within the narrative build on her established story and arc. Romance is always integrated into a story for a reason, and considering that reason is important.
Unfortunately, ATLA is very much a product of its time in this way. Itâs easy to see what romance adds to the arcs of the male charactersâbut not so much with the female characters. All three canon relationships (kataang, sukka, and maiko) follow this trend to some degree. The primary purpose of the woman in this narrative is to act as a prize for the man for performing some good deed. Once theyâre together, she ceases having her own motivations and becomes an extension of the male character sheâs dating. This is pretty blatant with Sukiâshe barely had a personality in that later seasons; she is there to be Sokkaâs girlfriend. Similarly, Katara becomes a completely different characterâsheâs even animated differentlyâwhen the narrative pushes her into romantic scenes with Aang. Her character is flattened.
So what is Kataraâs arc, and how do the romantic interactions she has throughout the series contribute to this?
Well, that could be a whole other essay itself, but to put it simply, Kataraâs arc is one of a young girl devastated by grief at a young age clinging to hope that she has the power to fight and change the world for the better. Which she does as she gains power and confidence throughout the seriesâculminating in her defeating Azula in the finale.
But the part I want to focus on here is how Katara connects with other characters. She connects with them over shared experiences of grief and loss.
Take Haru, for instance.
Haru: After the attack, they rounded up my father and every other earthbender, and took them away. We haven't seen them since.
Katara: So that's why you hide your earthbending.
Haru: Yeah. Problem isâŠthe only way I can feel close to my father now is when I practice my bending. He taught me everything I know.
Katara: See this necklace? My mother gave it to me.
Haru: Itâs beautiful.
Katara: I lost my mother in a Fire Nation raid. This necklace is all I have left of her.
Haru: Itâs not enough, is it?
Katara: No.
This isnât just a throwaway moment; itâs an important character moment that leads up to growth and the progression of Kataraâs overall story, both in this individual episode and in the whole series.
Katara finds her power in the connections sheâs able to make with other characters. Itâs a powerful driving force for her that makes her a strong character even before her bending abilities develop. Imprisoned was such an important episode to establish who Katara is and what her power is, and adds so much to her arc.
But there is one line in particular from the above exchange that also stands out: Haru says âitâs not enough, is it?â and Katara agrees. Even this early in the series, weâre establishing the fact that despite her drive and hopeful outlook, Katara feels deeply hurt, she feels a deep sense of loss that she opens up about to other characters in moments like these. But unlike HaruâŠKatara canât go rescue her mother. Her mother is dead, and we see her grapple with that grief throughout the series.
Another character she reaches out to like this is Jet.
Jet: Longshot over there? His town got burned down by the Fire Nation. And we found The Duke trying to steal our food. I don't think he ever really had a home.
Katara: What about you?
Jet: The Fire Nation killed my parents. I was only eight years old. That day changed me forever.
Katara: Sokka and I lost our mother to the Fire Nation.
Jet: Iâm so sorry, Katara.
Another important note about Jet is that there are explicit romantic feelings from Katara in this episode. Again, Katara empathizes with another character through a shared sense of loss. Sadly, in this case, Jet manipulated her feelings and tricked her into helping in his plot to flood the villageâŠbut those feelings were undeniably there.
That was the tragedy in this episode, but it also gives the audience so much information about Katara as a character: what motivates her, and what she wants. Katara is established as a character who wants someone who will connect with her and empathize with her over her lossâher greatest sense of trauma. She wants to help others but also receive support in return. The reason why she was smitten with Jet, beyond just initial attraction, is because he gave her a sense of that before Katara realized his true motivations.
A lot of people make the claim that Aang is good for Katara because he also feels a sense of great loss and trauma. And while on paper thatâs trueâŠdoes he really demonstrate that? I just gave two examples of characters Katara connected with this way, and both responded with deep empathy to what she said. Very early on in the showâthe third episodeâKatara attempts to connect with Aang the same way. How does he respond?
Katara: Aang, before we get to the temple, I want to talk to you about the airbenders.
Aang: What about 'em?
Katara: Well, I just want you to be prepared for what you might see. The Fire Nation is ruthless. They killed my mother, and they could have done the same to your people.
Aang: Just because no one has seen an airbender, doesn't mean the Fire Nation killed them all. They probably escaped!
Just compare this exchange to Haru and Jet. No effort to empathize, not even a âsorry for your lossâ or anything. Itâs a stark contrast, and the reason for that is because this narrative entirely centers Aang. Kataraâs narrative always seems to be secondary to his when theyâre togetherâwhich is exactly my point when I say this relationship has a fundamental lack of mutuality. Itâs built that way from the beginning of the series. It does not add to Kataraâs arc nor establish what about this dynamic would attract her.
And, look, before someone jumps down my throat about thisâŠIâm not saying Aang is a horrible person for this response. I think itâs a sign that heâs immature and has a fundamentally different approach to problems than Katara. Katara is a character who has been forced to take on responsibilities beyond her years due to being a child of a war-torn world. Aangâs approach to problems is avoidance while Katara never had that luxury. It doesnât mesh well.
This is all in Book 1. I honestly could have gotten on board with Kataang if the series meaningfully addressed these issuesâŠbut it didnât. In fact, they actually got worse in some ways.
Back to Kataraâs mother. Weâve established that this is a core part of Kataraâs character and like in the scene with Haru, she indicates that this is an unresolved issue that pains her. But then, in Book 3, Katara actually does get a chance to confront this pain.
This would have been a powerful moment. Surely the character who is meant to be her partner, her equal, would have been there for her. Surely he would have understood and supported her, fulfilling her narrative and adding to her story.
But Aang didnât do that. I wonât go into details because there are a million analyses out there on The Southern Raiders, but Aangâs response to Katara was the opposite of understanding. He got angry with her, insinuated that she was a monster for wanting revenge, and tried to dictate her behavior according to his own moral values. And importantly, from a narrative standpoint, he did not go with Katara. One of the most important events in her arc, and Aang didnât support herâhe actually tried stopping her. He didnât contribute to her growth and development.
Also noteworthy:
Katara: But I didnât forgive him. Iâll never forgive him.
Even at the end of the episode, Aang clearly doesnât understand at all what Katara is feeling. This line demonstrates it perfectly. He thinks she forgave him when that wasnât the case at allâŠbut of course, he didnât even accompany her, so he didnât see what actually took place. His worldview is fundamentally different from hers, and heâs consistently too rigid in his morality and immature to center Kataraâs feelings.
Throughout Kataraâs whole arc, her most significant character moments, Aangâs character just doesnât come through the way Kataraâs constantly does for him. Their narrative lacks mutuality. When Katara and Aang are together, she becomes an accessory to him. The ending scene is a perfect demonstration of this.
Now, to address the elephant in the room.
Which character does actually add to Kataraâs narrative and support her growth as a character?
Correct! I just talked about how important The Southern Raiders is to Kataraâs character and story, how itâs a chance for her to finally address the grief sheâs been carrying since Book 1. And who stood by her side throughout this pivotal moment? RightâZuko did.
You can talk all you want about how heâs a âcolonizerâ while Aangâs people suffered genocide, but youâre forgetting that âshow, donât tellâ is one of the most basic aspects of storytelling. The fact is, despite how it looks on paper, Zuko was the one there for Katara at her critical moments. Zuko empathized with Katara more than Aang ever didâas demonstrated in this episode. Zuko never once brought up his own cultural values. Zuko never once told Katara what to do. Zukoâs position was that Katara should be the one to decide, and that he would support any choice she made. He supported her decision to spare Yon Rha, but he would have also supported her if she decided to kill him. I actually found this episode to be a satisfying reversal to what is typically seen in TVâfor once, the female character is centered while her male counterpart takes the backseat and becomes a supporting role to her narrative.
Even before this, Zuko is shown to empathize with Katara.
Zuko: Iâm sorry. Thatâs something we have in common.
I think what gets me about this scene is the fact that heâs still Kataraâs enemy, and she was just yelling about how she hates him and his people. But despite that, Zuko still empathizes with Katara. She is fundamentally human to him, and he expresses that to her in a way that allows them to connect. Zuko stands to gain nothing from this. Itâs true that Azula entered the picture and twisted things aroundâbut in this moment, Zukoâs compassion is genuine. His instinct was to respond to her grief with empathy, just like she consistently does for other characters.
And finally, how else does Zuko add to Kataraâs arc?
I donât think there is any more perfect of an example than the finale itselfâthe culmination of the arcs and development of all characters.
Zuko and Katara fight together. In a heartbeat, Zuko asks Katara to fight by his side against Azula, because he trusts her strength. Sheâs his equalâboth in his mind, and in a narrative sense.
Then, this:
Both of their roles are so critical in this fight. They both save each other. The scene has such raw emotion to it. These characters were together at the conclusion of their respective arcs for a reason.
This is the perfect conclusion to Kataraâs arc. She just played a critical role in ending the war that has caused her trauma her whole life. She just demonstrated her mastery of waterbending (another thing sheâs dreamed of throughout the series) by defeating the worldâs most powerful firebender during Sozinâs Comet. Even though she had help as all characters do, these are victories that belong to her and demonstrate the growth and power of her character. And to top it all off? She was able to save Zukoâs life. She didnât have to endure the pain of feeling helpless to do anything while someone else died for her; this time, she had an active role, she changed her fate, and she prevailed. Zuko plays an important role in Kataraâs story without dominating it. They perfectly represent mutuality. They add to each otherâs stories. Their narratives become stronger when theyâre together, without one diminishing or sidelining the other.
So, from that standpoint, thatâs why I always see the attraction between Zuko and Katara and why I see it lacking between Aang and Katara. Zuko and Kataraâs story doesnât need some cheap little throwaway moments to shine. Itâs integral to both charactersâ stories. We are shown not told of the way these characters feel about each other. Given everything we know about Katara, her goals, her values, her past lovesâŠabsolutely everything points to Zuko being the true subject of her feelings.
Because letâs be honest. The ending I just described is so much more powerful and so much more Katara than seeing her being relegated back to a doe-eyed love interest for Aang to kiss. It hardly even made senseâKatara played no role at all at the culmination of Aangâs arc. She was relegated back to a love interest, rather than the powerful figure we saw fight alongside Zuko.

mingi hard thought
pairing: best friend!mingi x photographer!reader
warnings: suggestive | mdni
a/n: these calvin klein pics of mingi have been stuck in my mind all day. also itâs 2 am so my eyes are two seconds away from closing so if thereâs typos im sorry.
âââ ââ
ââ
â âââ
with you and mingi being best friends, you both heavily supported each others passion and motivated each other. mingi knew how much you loved photography and how serious you were about becoming a freelance photographer and hopefully building a career off that. so when you asked to take some pictures of him for your website and socials, he was happy to help.
at first you didnât know the vibe you wanted to go for. so you decided to ask mingi what heâd be interested in and to your surprise he showed you some picture of different calvin klein photos.
ânothing too much though, just the sexy vibe could be fun. only if youâre comfortable of course.â he said to you.
ân-no yeahâŠâ you stutter âi could definitely do something like this.â
when mingi showed up to your mini studio, the nerves really started to kick in. you didnât know why you were so nervous cause it was just mingi, your best friend. but why was the thought of seeing and portraying him in a sexy light in a photoshoot affecting you so much?
as the shoot went on and the flow of the music from his playlist filled the air, your nerves started to lessen. you took picture after picture but they just werenât to your liking.
mingi stood before you posing as you look at him in thought.
âmaybe unbutton your shirt.â you suggest.
he looks down at his buttoned shirt and back up at you with a smirk. and when his hands started to move it was like time started to slow down. each button coming undone made your heart beat a little faster.
he opened up his shirt, his underwear peaking through his pants making you gulp softly. he moved on his own accord, sitting down on the couch and started posing again.
quickly snapping out of your thoughts you bring your camera to your eye and snap a photo. looking at the monitoring screen you smile.
âmuch better.â
as the shoot went on you couldnât help but feel the burning desire start to grow within you.
âcould you lay on the couch, arm resting on the back, and face your face towards me⊠place your other hand on your thigh. perfect.â
mingi followed your instructions perfectly. he loved seeing you in your own world doing what you loved most.
when the shoot was done you sat on the couch beside him. the growing tension between you two the whole time had him feeling on edge.
âmin you know you can button up your shirt now.â you giggled.
he didnât say anything. eyeing you, he smiled. âi feel sexy like this. i wanna live in it just a little longer.â
âyouâre always sexy min.â you laugh not thinking too much about the words coming out of your mouth.
âyouâre always sexy too.â
his words made you sober up a little. âyouâre just saying that.â
he shook his head and looked into your eyes then down to your lips. âiâve always thought you were sexy. even right now.â
âmin-â
âyouâre beautiful.â
you donât know what to say. his hands reach out to pull your body on top of him. your body flush against his as you straddle him. there are no words shared between you two.
your finger drags down his exposed skin, stopping just above where his underwear is peaking out of his jeans.
his hips buck into you causing both of you to lets out gasps.
âiâve wanted you for so long.â he whispers softly.
âthen take me,â your lips brush against his. âright now.â

A/N: I'm finally here with the last part of Another Love. This fic means the whole world to me, it's the story that made me grow a lot as a writer and was the first story that I thought "woah this is really good" when I finished the first part. I hope you all like this last part, I poured my whole heart in this and I really want you all to feel what I tried to convey with my words. Thank you for all the comments, reblogs and feedback, that's what made me motivated to finish this fic.
Also, I wanna thank my best friend @baby-yongbok for bearing my whines and rumbles about this story. Thank you baby for helping me through the difficult times đ«¶đ»
You may have regretted telling Han that you would give him a chance. How soon? As soon as the sentence left your mouth. Why? Because now, you are going to have to face all the demons you kept inside of you for all these years.
While having an unrequited love, you had a motto: if you donât get too delusional, it's going to hurt less. So every single time, when your mind started wandering through those dirty thoughts, you made sure to stop yourself. However, now itâs not a one sided love anymore and youâre honestly afraid of what that means. The furthest thing you thought about doing with Jisung, was a kiss and even that left you hot and bothered. Now, you are thinking about other things, like having sex and thatâs something you never did before for the sake of your sanity.
It doesnât help that Jisung is a menace and surprisingly you didn't know about it. 15 years of friendship and just about now did you find out that this man has no shame.
Things were going pretty normal, he had been treating you like always so things didn't seem to have changed much and that gave you some peace of mind, afterall, he was always affectionate to you.
However, little by little, you started noticing some things. Like, walking around the house shirtless like he wants you to look and unsurprisingly thatâs exactly what you do. Every fucking time, you feel like you'll explode and in your defense, it's really, really hard not to look. He shows up wearing nothing but sweatpants and you try with all your willpower to look anywhere but him but in the end you can't help but look. Honestly, it's impossible and you know he's doing it on purpose because you get glimpses of his condescending smile whenever he catches you watching. You wish you could punch him in the face but then heâll know he has won and you canât let that happen.
Jisung is trying to prove a point, is it risky? Yes, but he's not entirely confident about winning you over. Even though you said you would give him a chance, every time he tries to get close to you it seems like you push him away and that scares him, heâs afraid you will change your mind and he canât have that. So heâs trying to show you that heâs the full package.
He's good to you and funny but that you already knew, you have been friends for a long time. So he wants to show you a new side of him, something you only get to see from a boyfriend.
After days of hesitation, one night he finally makes his move. Youâre in the kitchen, trying to get something on the top shelf but you can't seem to reach it. Jisung sees that and a brilliant idea pops on his head, you can only hear his footsteps coming behind you and in the split of a second, you feel the warmth of his body almost touching yours when he leans over you to get the bowls you wanted.
Thatâs the moment you lose your mind, years of restraint ending in a simple touch of his. Actually, the fact that heâs not even touching you makes everything worse.
âWhat do you think youâre doing?â You ask, not turning around to look at him.
âHelping you, what else?â He answers, voice shaking a bit with the proximity. You can feel his breathing on the top of your head.
âI didnât ask for helpâ, you clarify, not to sound rude but just trying to control yourself.
Unexpectedly, you feel his hands lightly holding your hips and in a quick move he turns you around, caging you against the kitchen cabinet and you release a shaky breath, heart beating like a hammer on your chest.
âYouâre pushing me awayâ, he points out, âI wonât be able to win you over if you donât let meâ
You stare at him for a minute, heâs looking at you with puppy eyes, making you sigh.
âIâm sorry, I just have to get used to itâ, you say, âI thought you would never like me so this change is kinda overwhelmingâ, you clarify.
âShall we go on a date, then?â He proposes, taking a step back, looking at you hopefully. You nod, earning a big smile from him. âOkay, be ready tomorrow at 8 amâ, he tells you, making you frown.
âWhat are we gonna do so early in the morning?â You ask, confused, making him shrug.
âIt's a surpriseâ, he says, âbut I can tell you that you should dress comfortablyâ
That's all he says, turning around and leaving you alone in the kitchen. Why does it seem like you just fell right into his trap? Like he already had everything planned and you acted exactly how he wanted you to?
There's nothing much you can do now since you already accepted the date, so you forget about what you wanted to do in the kitchen and go to your room, preparing a handbag with anything you'll possibly need.
He's up before you, waiting with breakfast and a warm cup of coffee. While you two eat you just know he's dying to tell you where you're going but he also doesn't want to ruin the surprise.
You realize it's going to be a trip when he drives out of the city, giving you the task of taking care of the playlist. You scroll through his songs, some from the boys, some from the artists he likes, you add some that you like, until you see the seaside.
âAre we going to the beach?â You ask, eyes sparkling. You missed this place so much.
âWe areâ, he smiles, stretching his hand to grab yours, interlacing your fingers. You feel your face hot, sure that you're blushing but you glance at him, seeing Jisung stare at the road with that shit eating grin on his lips.
âDonât you think you're being too much?â You ask, trying to hide the smile that's trying to escape your lips.
âNot reallyâ, he shrugs.
You and Jisung would always come to the beach when you were younger, it would be usually on your vacation but when you two were feeling down or something upsetting happened, you'd catch a bus and come here. You'd just sit in the sand, watching as the waves came and went, as the ocean reflected the color of the sky. It didnât matter if it was winter or summer, that was always the place to make you feel better.
Jisung parks in front of a restaurant, inviting you to come out to eat and you look around, seeing how much it has changed since the last time you went there. When you moved to Seoul for school, you stopped traveling farther than your parents house. Even though you didnât really need to save money because your family always supported you, you like to have savings for an emergency, so you had to give up on luxuries like traveling too far. Also, as you got older it became more difficult to stay close to your best friend in a place that was meant for just the two of you, every time you would go to the beach with him, youâd feel the urge to confess and that couldnât happen, you were not ready yet. So you spent the last few years avoiding coming to your favorite place.
You were planning to come alone one day, when you had gotten over Jisung but life seems to be playing with you and now youâre there with the man you love and heâs the one holding himself not to confess to you right then and there. Not because itâs a secret, but because he doesnât want to pressure you more than he already feels like heâs doing.
âI canât believe we came all this way to eat spicy fried chickenâ, he tells you as soon as you order your favorite.
âStopâ, you pout, âyou know this place has the best chicken wings in the entire planetâ
âHave you ever tried all the chicken wings on the planet?â He teases, making you roll your eyes.
âI donât need to, I just know this one is the bestâ, you argue back, crossing your arms.
He stares at you with an idiotic smile, biting on his bottom lip trying not to laugh at you.
âMaybe on our next tour you can come with us?â he says, feeling his face warming up, âIâll accept your opinion only after you try the fried chicken from two other countriesâ
Jisung looks around, trying to hide his blushing or his pout, anxiously waiting for your answer but you can see his ears as red as tomatoes.
âMaybeâ, thatâs the only thing you say, holding yourself from giggling.
You and Jisung take a walk when you finish your food, needing some exercise after eating too much. You take your sneakers off, feeling the sand hugging your feet and the cold water making you shiver when the waves finally get to you.
âRemember when I had to go on tour for the first time?â Jisung asks, glancing at you and you nod. âYou got so upset that I would go away for an entire month, that you disappeared, your mom wanted to kill youâ, he chuckles and you sigh, remembering that time.
You were 20 and had barely settled down in Seoul when he had to go away. You were upset that you would have to stay all by yourself since classes had already started but you pretended like everything was alright.
âI didnât really disappear, thatâs an exaggerationâ, you scoff, âI just forgot to mention that I wouldnât come home that nightâ
âWell, that sounds like disappearing to meâ, he argues back, âand it did to our parents tooâ
âThe point?â You try changing the subject, not really wanting to admit that you were in the wrong.
âThe point is, that I found you seated on that rock right thereâ, he points to the place you were walking to. âYou were a mess, you cried and were already sick because you didnât bring a coat and it was already nightâ, he scolds you, making you roll your eyes.
âAnd?â You push again, starting to feel guilty again about that day.
âI should have realized your feelings for me soonerâ, Jisung bites on his bottom lip, fidgeting with his hands. âEveryone but me knew and you had to struggle on your own. Iâm sorryâ
You feel tears brimming on your eyes, you donât want him to pity you.
âI never wanted an apology from youâ, you explain, âI was always aware that you didnât have to like me back. It was not fair of me to expect you to feel something you didnât. Thatâs why I never told you⊠I mean, until I couldnât hold it back anymoreâ, you chuckle awkwardly. âEven if you had never liked me back, I wouldnât want you to apologize to meâ
Jisung pouts, nodding in agreement.
âBut Iâm not apologizing for not liking you backâ, he say, âIâm apologizing because you struggled because of me and if I had realized it sooner maybe you wouldnât have had to-â
âAnd maybe you wouldnât have fallen in love with me tooâ, you blurt out, hand flying to your mouth as soon as the sentence left your mouth, making a big smile show up in his lips.
âAm I hearing this correctly?â He teases, seeing you blush. âDid you just admit that you are satisfied that Iâm the one in love now?â
âWhy, of courseâ, you bite back a smile. âYou deserve a bit of a punishment for dating so much in your lifeâ, you shake your head in disapproval.
âThereâs nothing wrong with falling in loveâ, he teases, laughing when you roll your eyes.
Heâs right, you were in love with him for a long time and thereâs nothing wrong with that. However, for some reason, that makes your heart ache and an awful thought appears in your mind, making you stop on your tracks, glancing at him and staring for a whole minute before speaking up again.
âFor how long are you going to be in love with me though?â You ask, letting your insecurities speak but you canât help but think about that. âYour relationships didnât last that long, are you sure you wonât just fall out of love with me in a bit?â
That makes his smile disappear, his brows knit together in a frown, pure confusion on his complexion.
âI- youâre differentâ, he says like it is the simplest thing in the world.
âWhatâs so different about me?â You push, trying to understand him, trying to look for some reassurance.
âI donât think I ever felt like this for anyone beforeâ, he explains. âI was never the jealous type, but when I saw you with Jeongho I wanted to explode and my chest hurt so much. I think of you every minute of the day, I was never like this before. I want to show you places, I want to take you to eat different foods and see your reaction when you taste them. You know youâre just like Hyunjin right? You do that face when you eat something deliciousâ, he smiles, âI want to be the one to make you smile and I want to be the one whoâs there when you need to cry. I want to be your best friend, but I donât want to be just your best friend, I want to have it all. All of youâ
You feel like all the air from your body just decided to come out, you canât breathe and at the same time you feel like youâre breathing too much â too fast, but when you see his dark eyes watching you, waiting for you to say something â anything, its like your body move on its on and in the split of a second your lips are on his.
You always dreamed about kissing Jisung. You always imagined how it would be to kiss him. But not even your greatest dreams came close to reality. His lips are soft just like cotton and warm like the hot chocolate you drink on a cold day. His body pressed against yours is something you never thought you needed but now that you have it it's something you donât think you can let go.
His hands cup your face, fingers digging on your skin like youâre going to run away if he holds you with less strength. Heâs shy, just pressing his lips against yours, until it's too much for him to handle and his tongue comes into your mouth, making you sigh. Jisung's hands trail gentle caresses down your arms, leaving a trail of warmth behind and sliding around your waist and pressing himself more against you.
You are completely lost in his lips, not sure what to do next, it's like it's your first time kissing someone. You grab his shirt, trying to get a hold on something, trying not to fall because your legs are almost giving out and your chest feels like exploding. When you two need to breathe, he pulls away from you, looking at you breathlessly, waiting for you to explain yourself or at least give him another kiss. But when he sees doubt in your eyes, he hugs you, squeezing you against him again.
âPlease, donât run away nowâ, he pleads. âI donât think I can handle it, not after thisâ
âJisung, I-â, you hesitate, trying to say the right thing.
âYou donât have to give me an answer right nowâ, he assures you. âI wonât expect anything from you until you are sure about your decision, so donât worry about itâ, he says.
âOkayâ, you nod.
The fact that it seems like your feelings didnât change at all, scares you. How could you try so hard to get over him but still feel the same? If he hadnât come around to like you, would you have struggled your whole life with your unrequited love? It didnât happen but the âwhat ifâ is haunting you and you canât give him an answer until this feeling goes away.
The trip back home is quiet, not as awkward as you thought it would be but Jisung seems lost in thoughts and you are not very different. You donât know why you keep letting all these intrusive thoughts win over your mind, if it was before your confession, youâd jump in his arms at the mere mention of him liking you back, so why is it so different now? Why are you so hesitant?
âDo you want pizza?â He asks, as soon as you enter Seoul again.
âYeahâ, you nod, looking at him.
Jisung changed too, heâs treating you the same as he always did but it seems different somehow, you just canât quite grasp what changed. He looks more mature, like something switched inside of him and that makes you a bit nervous. Youâre not so familiar with this Jisung, you canât predict what heâs gonna do next or what heâs thinking. Your best friend doesnât look just like your best friend anymore and maybe thatâs the whole point. If things stayed the same would it feel like you were dating? Would you understand that you donât have to hide your feelings anymore? That you can kiss him and be jealous of him? If things stayed the same, would you let yourself love him freely?
âSo she kissed youâ, Chan points out, eyes squeezed, trying to make sense of the situation, âand she hasnât talked about it since?â
âYeahâ, Jisung pouts, âbut in her defense, I told her I didnât need an answer immediatelyâ
âAnd that was your mistakeâ, Hyunjin says, âyou have anxiety, you always need answers immediatelyâ
âWell, youâre not wrongâ, Jisung sighs, âbut I didnât want her to feel pressured. Especially since it looked like she was about to run away if I said anything abruptâ.
âI guess sheâs just confusedâ, Chan tries to help, âbut the fact that she kissed you is a good signâ
âYou think so?â Jisung looks at his older friend with puppy eyes, hopeful.
âYeah, of courseâ, Chan chuckles.
âYou know what?â Changbin comes in from the kitchen, heâs been listening to the whole story but didnât say a thing until now. âYou should do something romantic for herâ
âLike what?â Jisung asks.
âThink about something that would be touching, something that has to do with your story togetherâ, Chan advises, making the youngest think.
Jisung frowns, there's something that comes to mind but would you like that? Until now, he has tried to be subtle in his ways of approaching you. He wakes up earlier than you everyday and makes you eat before you go to class. He's always home when you come back at night, waiting with snacks and a movie for you two to watch together. You have been discovering a new side of him, even though you thought you knew everything about your best friend, but now Jisung watches you with heart eyes.
Would you like it if he was more romantic? Heâs not even sure if youâre into that kind of thing, the boyfriends you had never made big gestures like that and you didnât seem to care. Would you like it if it's him doing it? Well, it doesnât hurt to try.
âOkay, I think I know what to doâ, Jisung decides.
You still haven't given an answer to Jisung and that's making you feel bad, what's holding you right now? You know he likes you, but what if things don't work out, will you be able to keep being friends after all that?
To take your mind out of that for a bit, you finally graduate, after what it felt like ages. You poured all your blood, sweat and tears in the years that you spent in college, now you're finally free.
Jisung's parents and yours came to the city for your graduation celebration. You organized a dinner in a good restaurant and the night was so much fun, you laughed till your stomach hurt and your friends brought up all your embarrassing stories through all the years you spent in college.
The morning after you had trouble even opening your eyes, any light was too much and your eyes refused to open. You hear a few knocks on the door of your room, making you groan, telling the person â Jisung probably, to enter.
âYou should get readyâ, he says, making you frown, eyes still closed. âDon't pretend that you're still sleeping, it's afternoonâ, he whines.
âI'm not pretending, my eyes can't take this much lightâ, you explain, you shouldn't have drank so much.
Jisung walks past you, going to the window and closing the blinds.
âNow you have no excusesâ, he teases, watching as you flutter your eyes open slowly.
âWhy do I need to get ready, though?â You ask, sitting down.
âWe are going outâ
âWe are?â
âYes, so get readyâ, he informs you, walking past you in the direction of the door and leaving with no further explanation. What's this guy planning now?
You get up, grab a towel and a change of clothes and go to take a shower, knowing that arguing won't take you anywhere.
Jisung is waiting for you in the car, a cup of coffee and a sandwich waiting for you.
âShall we?â He asks, turning on the engine when you enter the car and close the door.
âCouldn't we have had breakfast inside?â You ask, biting on the sandwich.
âIt's not a breakfast if it's already afternoonâ, he rolls his eyes, âI ate a long time ago and we are already lateâ
âLate for what?â You enquiry, sipping on the coffee.
âIt's a surpriseâ, he grins, eyes focused on the road.
You sigh, knowing that he won't tell you, so you just finish eating while watching the scenario change, buildings turning into threes and farms.
âDon't you know how to plan dates in the city?â You ask, making him laugh.
âI do, but I wanted to do something specific on this date and I had a bit of trouble finding itâ, he tells you.
The sun is already starting to set when Jisung parks in front of a school, making you from, what kind of date is this? You ask, trying to understand, until you see a crowd.
You get out, walking by yourself while Jisung locks the car, hearing his footsteps after you a few seconds later.
âWhat's this?â You ask, when you see the booths spread around the campus and the families and students walking around.
âA school festivalâ, he smiles, watching as you turn to look at him, confusion in your face. âA little bird told me that you found out about your feelings for me right around the time I took Haneul to the school festival on elementary schoolâ, he bites on his bottom lip, âand you were there to witness my first date, even though you liked meâ, he sighs, âso I thought that maybe I could make it up for that time by bringing you to a school festival, just me and youâ, he explains, making your heart skip a bit. You never thought Jisung could be this romantic, you never knew you liked this kind of romantic stuff either, but the way your heart is beating makes you think that you do.
âI- Jisung I-â, you try to say but you can't form a coherent sentence, making him smile.
âLet's go, I got a lot of prizes to win for youâ, he informs, stretching his hand in your direction so you can hold it and you do, you hold his hand without a second thought, ignoring his red ears and how hot your cheeks are.
You walk around the place, going to every booth, watching the performances and eating to your heart's content. Jisung is giving you food like his life depends on it, it's a mission of his to make you eat everything you set your eyes on and when you can't finish he does it for you, but he wants you to try everything.
âHow are we supposed to carry all this?â You ask, arms full of the plushies he earned you.
âLike we are doing right nowâ, he answers, as if he has not been dropping the ones he's carrying all the time.
âYou know the children must hate you, right?â
âIt's not my fault if I have the power of love to help me win the big prizesâ, he winks at you, making you feel your cheeks hot.
âLet's go, it's already lateâ, you tell him, walking faster in the direction of the car so Jisung won't notice how flustered you got.
You stuff the plushies in the backseat, feeling a few drops of rain fall on your face when you close the door, making you run to the passenger seat to escape. Jisung comes right after you, starting the car and driving back to the road.
âCan you check the forecast? I did it in the morning and there was nothing about rainâ, he asks, the rain outside getting stronger.
âSureâ, you take your phone out of your pocket, searching for news about the weather. âIt seems like it's one of those rains that start out of nowhereâ, you explain, âand it's not going to stop any time soonâ, you watch the dark road, little to no lighting.
âShould we look for a hotel, then?â Jisung asks, making you turn to him with wide eyes. âHey! Don't get any weird ideas, we are going to separate roomsâ, he informs you, covering his chest like you have the dirtiest mind.
âI didn't say anythingâ, you retort, crossing your arms.
âHmph, but you thoughtâ, he murmurs. âCan you look for a place nearby?â He asks but you were already doing that.
There's a nice hotel a few minutes from where you are and when you call them, they tell you there are rooms available but when you get there things are different.
âSo⊠they only have a roomâ, you say, fidgeting.
âIt's fine, I can sleep on the floorâ, he shrugs, pressing for the elevator to come to you.
âActually there are separate beds, so there's no needâ, you chuckle, seeing his ears turning red.
âGreat, that's great. My back appreciates itâ, he rumbles, flustered like an idiot making you laugh.
The rain seems to get worse outside, now adding thunder and lightning to the chaos. The room is comfortable and clean, there's a bathroom and a minibar so you can eat something.
You take your coat, throwing it in one of the beds and walk to the window, closing the blinds and shivering watching the lightning outside. Jisung opens the fridge, looking inside to see if thereâs anything interesting to eat and grabbing a bottle of water.
âDo you want it?â He asks, making you turn to look at him and nod, waiting as he walks to you, handing you the bottle.
âI think we should get to sleep soon, so we can go back early tomorrowâ, you say, gulping the water and Han nods, finishing his.
You two get on your beds, it's weird to sleep in the same room as him after so long. You turn your back to him, hoping that not seeing his face is going to make it easier for you to sleep.
However, a thunder rumbles so loudly sounding like it's right by your room's window, making you jump.
âJeezâ, you squeal, covering your face with the blanket.
âAre you alright?â Jisung's voice sounds behind you, making you turn to look at him. He's staring at you, brows knit together in worry.
âI'm fineâ, you tell him, even though you're not so sure.
âI know you're afraid of stormsâ, he sighs, biting on his bottom lip. âDo you want me to lay down with you? So you won't be so scared?â
You feel heat spreading all over you just by thinking about sleeping in the same bed as Jisung. You slept together a hundred times before so it shouldn't be so embarrassing to do it once more, but you're not sure if you're going to be able to behave if you go there.
âThere's no needâ, you tell him, closing your eyes and trying to fall asleep when another thunder sounds out there, seeming so much louder than before and making you jump again. âYou know what? I think I'll accept your offerâ, you say, watching as Jisung sits down, grabbing his pillow and blanket, standing up to move to your bed. He lays down so far from you that he's almost falling from the mattress.
âI won't bite youâ, you roll your eyes, turning to look at him, facing the middle of the bed.
âI wouldn't mind if you didâ, he chuckles, âI just don't want to make you uncomfortableâ, he says and even with the darkness of the room, you can see his cheeks reddening when he gets closer.
âYou won't make me uncomfortable, it's okayâ, you put your arm down your pillow and the other one on top, your hand beneath your head, watching as Jisung fidgets, trying to find a good position without touching you. âDo I make you uncomfortable?â You enquiry, seeing as his eyes widen and he shakes his head frantically.
âNot at all, you're the person whom I feel the most comfortable withâ, he confesses, making your cheeks burn and something more spread through your whole body.
Maybe things need to change. What then, if things don't workout? If you were going to think that way, you should have never confessed to your best friend in the first place. You decided to risk it all when you told him about your feelings and now he's the one pouring himself to you, waiting for you to choose him once more.
âIf I asked you to kiss me now, would you?â You ask, gulping down, trying to stay calm even though your heart just turned into a hammer in your chest.
âCan I?â He asks, hopeful, watching as you nod slowly. His hands cup your face and in the split of a second his lips are on yours, his fingers caress your cheeks delicately and he holds you like you're the most fragile thing in the whole world.
This kiss is so much better, kissing him while being certain about what you're feeling is delightful. His kiss is still soft and sweet, yearning and hungry as if he's been waiting for this for a long time.
You slide your hands down his shirt, going to his back and digging your nails on his skin. He sighs on your lips, letting a little groan escape his mouth. Jisung's hands go down from your face too, sliding to your waist and hips to pull you closer to him, pressing your body against his.
When you two find it too difficult to breathe, he pulls away from you, trailing kisses down your jaw and your neck, biting on your soft skin, making you moan. Your eyes widen in embarrassment but Jisung looks at you with dark eyes, licking on his lips.
âYou sound so good, please don't hold backâ, he pleads, going back to marking you. âCan I take it off?â He asks, grabbing the hem of your shirt, making your whole face burn as you nod, sitting down so he can pull the piece of fabric out of your body. He watches as your chest rises and falls, you lay back down, looking around extremely flustered but he can't take his eyes out of you. You're the prettiest woman he ever got to know and he's so in love with you that it feels like his heart is about to explode.
Jisung leans closer to your face, kissing you again as you let your hands wander through his body, sliding them to his hips and digging your nails on his skin, pulling him against you, feeling his length pressing on your thigh.
âYou're so prettyâ, he sings praises as he kisses down your collarbone, reaching your breast and his hands go to your back, undoing your bra.
âStop staringâ, you feel your cheeks burning with the way his eyes wander through your chest.
âI can't, you're too beautifulâ, he answers, leaning down do suck on your hardened peaks.
âJi-Jisungâ, your hands fly to his hair as you press him against your breasts, âthat's so goodâ, you sigh, feeling his tongue circling around your nipple.
Jisung starts humping against your clothed core, making you gasp and groan as your hands cup his face, bringing him back to kiss you. He doesn't stop the movements of his hips, rubbing his hard cock and sighing on your lips.
âCan I eat you out?â He asks, biting on your bottom lip as he pulls away from you.
His eyes are dark like you have never seen, like he's in a daze but the reality is that Jisung is too drunk on your scent and your warmth to think about how lustful he may look at that moment.
âHow much do you want it?â You tease, making him sigh, looking at you with puppy eyes, his hands going to the waistband of your pants, pulling it slightly away from your hips and playing with it, wanting to pull it down but waiting for your permission.
âI want to taste you so bad, you have no ideaâ, he bites on his bottom lip, âI feel like I might die if I don't feel your pussy clenching around my tongue right nowâ, he pleads, making your hips involuntarily thrust against his shaft, making him groan, âfuck. This is torture, please let me taste you, pleaseâ, he begs.
âI like it when you begâ, you try to pretend you're not dying to have his mouth down on you, âgo aheadâ
In a second Jisung is pulling your pants down, your panties going with it, he has no time to waste. He rushes to fit in between your legs, setting them over his shoulders as he kisses your inner thighs, trailing kisses closer and closer to your aching cunt.
âI can feel the scent of your arousalâ, he teases, taking a deep breath, âYou smell so good, babyâ, he completes, making you groan in embarrassment.
âWhat are you, a dog?â You retort, trying to ignore the burning on your face.
âOnly for youâ, he grins before diving in on your pussy. Jisung attaches his mouth to your clit, the warmth of his tongue spreading all over your body and you lead your hands to his hair again, pressing him against your core. His fingers dig on your thighs like he wants to mark you, putting more strength on the way his face sticks between your legs.
âJisung- fuck, Sungieâ, you whine feeling his arm moving, his finger being inserted inside your folds. He thrust them in and out, eyes closed as he enjoys your taste, the way your juices spill all over the bed sheets, he wants every bit of it in his mouth but there's just too much, he can't have it all. It's okay though, he's planning to lick you clean everyday from now on, every time he makes you come on his tongue, he's not going to let any of your juices go to waste.
He puts another finger inside you, finally opening his eyes when he feels your walls fluttering around his knuckles.
âFuck, are you gonna cum baby?â He asks, the look of pleasure in your face is so much that he has to hump against the bed to get some relief, his cock is throbbing so much, he feels he can cum just by looking at you.
âY-hmmâ, you are unable to form a whole word, the feeling spreading all over your body is too overwhelming, it's making you dazed and you can't think properly but you nod to him, hoping Jisung can understand that he shouldn't stop, not right now.
âShit, y/n, come for me, please, I want to taste you coming on my tongueâ, he tells you, going back to licking your cunt. He can feel the moment you cum, not just because you moan so loudly he thinks the other people on that floor can hear it but because your hole gets tighter around his fingers. You arch your back, hands going to the sheets as you grab them for dear life.
As you come down from your high, you're embarrassed to open your eyes. You never thought Jisung was one to do the whole dirty talking thing but if you think about it, there are quite a couple of things you didn't know about him.
You feel his kisses coming up your stomach, forcing you to open your eyes, you prop up on your elbows, watching him sneaking closer to you.
âWas it good?â He asks and you feel your whole face burning again but you nod anyways, feeling breathless when he smiles brightly, ears turning red.
You're ready to ask something but the huge bulge in his pants makes you gulp, staring for a second until his eyes follow yours and he blushes, turning with his stomach down so he can hide that part from you.
âCan I suck you off too?â You ask, licking your lips, suddenly eager to feel him coming on your mouth.
âI- I really want you toâ, he clears his throat, looking around embarrassed, âbut I don't think I'm gonna last long if I feel your pretty lips around meâ, he says, making a huge smile grow on your lips.
âI never thought you'd be such a sweet talker in bedâ, you confess, still squirming to his words.
Jisung smiles, leaning closer to you know, his chest pressed against yours and his length brushing on your leg.
âSo, did you thought about how it would feel like if I fucked you?â His eyes darken again.
âI mean, lately you have been showing too much skin, it would be impossible for me not to have any dirty thoughtsâ, you confess.
âFuckâ, he groans, âdo you want to keep goin?â He asks, kissing your neck, going up to your jaw and then your lips, âI don't have a condom but I'm sure we can make it work without putting it inâ, he stares at you expectantly.
You feel the warmth on your lower stomach spread to all your body, shouldn't you feel less turned on now that you came?
âI- I'm on the pill, soâŠâ you start saying and his eyes widen to your suggestion.
âAre you sure, it's okay if we don't-â
âI want toâ, you assure him, âI want to feel all of you inside me, you have no idea how much I want toâ, you plead and Jisung breathes a laugh, he's glad to see you're as desperate as he is.
âOkayâ, he nods, âbut if you want to stop at any time just tell meâ, he says as he gets up from the bed to take his pants and underwear off.
When Jisung cock springs out of his underwear, hitting his stomach, you can't hold the moan that escapes your lips as you watch how painfully hard he is. He crawls back to your side, letting his hand rest on your stomach as he kisses you again.
âDo you have a position you want to be in?â He asks, shyly, as if you both are not fully naked in front of each other.
âI'd like to stay on top if it's okayâ, you whisper and he nods.
âYeah, I'd love thatâ, he says, laying down after giving you a peck on the lips. You take a deep breath before kissing him too, mouth trailing down his jaw and neck. You mark him, giving him hickeys all around his chest.
Jisung cups your face, bringing your lips to his as you throw a leg over his hip, rubbing your wet folds on the length of his cock, that small stimulation making you moan.
âShit, you're so hotâ, he whines, biting on his bottom lip as he stares at you. You chuckle, grabbing his shaft and positioning it on your entrance, closing your eyes and sighing to the mere pressure of his head splitting your foulds in a half. You sink down on his cock, moaning loudly, feeling him stretching you out perfectly.
âOh- oh, this is so good, fuckâ, you whine, letting yourself get used to the feeling.
âYou're so tightâ, he groans, hands going straight to your hips, digging his fingers on the flesh. âIt feels so good inside youâ
Jisung closes his eyes, overwhelmed with you, it's too much, your warmth is hugging him, making him whine and groan like an animal. But he wants you to feel as good as he's feeling, so he takes one of his hands from your hip to your mouth, brushing his middle and index fingers on your lips.
âSuck on them, babyâ, he asks, making you moan and do as you're told. Jisung grins, taking his hand down to your core and pressing them on your clit, making circles around the puffy bud.
âAh- Sungie, that's- that's too muchâ, you whine riding him slowly, feeling your orgasm growing at each passing second. The knot on your stomach ready to burst when you feel his cock throbbing inside you, making you open your eyes to look at him.
He's stunning even coming undone beneath you, Jisung has his lips partially open, his hair stuck on his sweaty forehead and his moans are just like music to your years, the prettiest sound he ever made and it's just yours now, it's just for you to hear it.
âI'm gonna come! Y/n, I'm gonna comeâ, he warns you so you can get off him if you want to but you sink deeper, causing him to reach his orgasm, spilling his hot cum inside you. You follow him shortly when he puts more pressure on your clit while he's coming, making you tremble and moan as you spasm with pleasure.
You fall down on his chest, feeling Jisung's arms wrap around you as he gently lays you down by his side. He pulls the blanket to cover you and gives you a kiss on the top of your head as he watches you blinking into sleep.
Jisung wakes up to an empty bed. His hand wanders through the sheets, searching for your warm body to snuggle in as he opens his eyes but he finds nothing, just a cold space.
He sits on the bed to look around, trying to find you but you're nowhere to be seen and suddenly dread takes over him. Did you go home? Did you leave him behind? Did you regret spending the night with him?
Those thoughts break his heart, he looks around once more just to make sure he's not mistaken and you're actually there with him. He gets up, putting on sweatpants and walking to the bathroom. He knocks a few times, hoping that you're there, that you're going to tell him to wait because you're in there but no sound comes back to him and when he opens the door the space is empty.
Jisung sits down on the edge of the bathtub, he wants to cry. He shouldn't have expected you to stay with him just because you spent one night together, he should have known that, but why does it hurt so much? Why does he feel like a part of his heart was ripped out?
He sighs, guessing this is your answer to his confession. Could you still be friends after what happened last night? He can't be sure. He goes around the room, collecting the rest of his things and finishing getting dressed, couldn't you have waited for him? The keys are still on the table, so how did you go home without the car?
When he's grabbing said keys though, the room's door swings open, welcoming in a very sweaty you.
âAh, you're up?â You pout, âI thought I would be able to come back before you woke upâ, you smile. How can you smile like that when you just broke his heart? How could you have disappeared?
âYou came back?â He asks, arms falling limp by his sides. He stares at you with the eyes of a wounded puppy and that's when you know you did something you shouldn't.
âYeah? You thought I left you?â You tease, trying to be funny but when he sulks, eyes growing glossy, it sinks in. âYou didâ, you come to the conclusion, closing the door behind you.
You walk to Jisung, putting the bag you have in your hands on the table.
âI went to buy breakfast but it turns out there aren't many places that sell decent food around hereâ, you explain, âit ended up taking more time than it was supposed to, I should have left a note. I'm sorryâ
âI thought you had decided that you didn't want to stay with meâ, Jisung whines, âthat after last night you found out that I'm not enough for you anymore. That I really ruined everythingâ, he cries out, a single tear running down his cheek.
âJisung, of course I wouldn't leave you behind even if I had decided I didn't want to date youâ, you tell him, grabbing his hand and squeezing it, trying to give him some reassurance.
âI was even preparing a speech in my headâ, he pouts, âabout how even if we don't date I'd still see you the same way. I'd be by your side forever even if it's not romantically, I'd be happy to watch you live your life, even if it's with someone else as long as you were happyâ, he tells you. âYour love was already something I couldn't reach so I'm grateful that you gave me the chance to show you how much I love youâ
âSo you're going to be happy even if I marry someone else?â You question, making him sulk even more.
âI won't be happy but if you're that's enough for meâ
âBut I wouldn't want my boyfriend to be happy that I'm marrying someone elseâ, you tell him, smiling slightly as you watch the sentence you just said sink in on him and the sparkling grow in his eyes.
âBo-boyfriend?â He asks, hesitant.
âOf course, or did you think I'd smash then dash?â You chuckle, his cheeks turn red and he pouts pulling you closer with the hand you have holding yours.
âSo you love me back, right?â He questions, making you smile, nodding.
âI doâ
ââCause I love you so much it feels like my heart is about to burstâ, he says, putting your hand on his chest, his heart beating like crazy, making you smile. âThen, do you want to be my girlfriend?â
âYe-â, his lips are on yours before you can finish the sentence, making you sigh, just forgetting about the breakfast and also to check out, calling the reception and updating your stay for another half day.
When you show up at Jeonginâs birthday holding hands and looking lovey dovey, everyone sighs relieved and you have to hear Minhoâs and Seungmin's sarcastic ass saying âfinallyâ and âI thought I would die before you two would finally fuckâ, respectively.
Your daily life with Jisung went about almost the same as before, except that now you'd basically share the same room, you'd rarely sleep in yours. You make food and take it to the company when he's too busy, sometimes you even stay there till late in the night, waiting for him to finish recording so he can come home with you and cuddle in bed until you two fall asleep.
Your parents don't make a big deal about it, you swore your father would make you move to another place after the news came out but he just sighed, telling you that he knew this would happen someday and that he's happy you are dating someone as good as Jisung.
A few months go by and your relationship is still going smoothly. Of course you have some arguments here and there but nothing that you can't fix with a conversation.
You accepted the proposal of the guys to go touring with them and that's how you ended up in their dressing room, waiting for them to get back there after their last show on the tour.
The door opens and you hear the boys' loud voices coming in, greeting them and telling how nice the show was.
âYou see how hard your future husband works?â Jisung brags, walking up to you and pulling you aside. He wraps his arms around you and you feel your cheeks burn, you still feel flustered to hear him saying this kind of thing.
âFuture husband?â You tease, giggling as he pouts, frowning.
âYeah, or do you let any man do this to you?â He pulls you closer and gives you a peck on the lips.
âMaybe?â You tease, making him stare at you with his brows raised, poking the inside of his cheek with his tongue.
âIt seems like you need some punishmentâ, he sighs, looking at his hands before attaching them to your stomach, tickling you.
âStop!â You scream, laughing and trying to get away from him.
âSay you're only mineâ, he pouts, tickling you even more.
âJisung, I'm gonna kill youâ, you struggle to say between giggles.
âI'll die happily if you say I'm the only one for youâ, he pushes, pressing his fingers even harder against your stomach.
âOkay, alrightâ, you give in, making him stop to look at you. âYou are the only one for me and I'm all yours, happy?â You roll your eyes, watching his pout turning into a big smile.
âSay it one more timeâ, he whines.
âI love youâ, you say, making Jisung stare at you for a moment, before his cheeks start turning pink.
âI'll never get tired of hearing thatâ, he smiles, holding your hand and bringing it to his mouth for him to kiss. âI love youâ, he says, leaning in for a kiss, the sweetest you have ever shared.

Mike Wheeler and his Promise
"It means something that you can't break. Ever."
A huge part of Mike Wheeler's hidden character arc is set up in season 1, episode 2 with this scene right here. It's pretty much the motivation behind many of his actions towards El and Will, can be a partial explanation for his internalised homophobia and explains why he seems like to have a saviour complex.
Narratively, promises are made to be broken. When writers decide to make a promise 'important' and emphasise that this promise cannot be broken, ever, it will always come back to bite that character in the ass. Promises are either made to be broken in stories like these, or they are made to make a character feel trapped. Promises are rarely ever used in a romantic fashion unless the character cannot keep their promise or they feel like they are forced to.
What makes it really seem like Mike and El are a doomed couple to me is that the writers chose Mike to say: Ever.
No word is misplaced in writing a script. There is no such thing as an unintentional line in Stranger Things tbh, and this word in particular means two things:
Mike will always keep his promises throughout time.
Mike will keep his promises no matter if circumstances change, no matter if his feelings change.
There is no reason for this line to be in there other than to foreshadow the fact that Mike will eventually have to eat the words from his naive 12-year-old self. He will eventually regret promising something, but he'll feel like he can't go back. Ever.
The domino effect Promise begins:
*Smiling* "And we can go to the Snow Ball."
*Smiling* "Promise?"
*No longer smiling* "Promise."
This promise was made in order to foreshadow that it doesn't come true right? Because that is often what happens to promises narratively, and of course, it can't come to be because they get separated and Mike thinks she's died.
But.... the promise does come true.
So instead, this promise was made, narratively, to trap Mike. While this seems harsh of course, this young Mike has no idea that what he has just promised to himself is not only to go to the Snow Ball with El (which was a promise made to comfort her here, to make her feel like she will survive). He doesn't necessarily seem happy about making this promise. He seems more... indifferent. Knowing that this is something he just has to do.
Yeah, because this is definitely the actors' expressions and lighting and scenery you want for a first kiss, right?
So not only has Mike promised to go to the Snow Ball with her, he has also promised to save her, he has promised to be with her. And he can't break this promise, ever.
Even when his feelings change:
The writers separated Mike and El and put Mike with Will in season 2 for a reason. They used it to build up a good development of Mike and Will's dynamic of course, but it was also to change Mike's feelings.
It eventually becomes apparent to the viewer that Mike has resigned himself to not finding El. In season 2 episode 2, the last time we see Mike on the walkie, he walks away. Music swells and El looks onwards. Instead of looking happy, she seems disappointed that her bond with Mike is not as strong as she thought.
Mike, after his talk with Will in the same room, has begun to give up.
And over time, he figures out that maybe... maybe finding and choosing to Will's friend is the best thing he's ever done instead. Once he figures this out, he cries, he's not loud, he's not angry. But it's at least the thing to bring Will's message forward.
Then El comes back, and Mike feels like a liar.
I've never really figured out why Mike shouts 'LIAR!' many times towards Hopper when he's clearly projecting as he starts to cry. Until now. It's the guilt that he didn't keep his promise. The promise he had made back when El had almost died, back when El had clearly thought promises could never be broken. EVER. Even when feelings change.
Of course he'd felt pissed at Hopper. Hopper was the one to keep El safe, not Mike, which is not the thing he had promised.
When El returns, Mike says:
"I never stopped looking for you."
Woops, Michael, that's a bald-faced lie, and you know it. But he also knows what a promise is, something that can't ever be broken.
Mike is now committed into this relationship. He's ready to keep El as his girlfriend for many reasons, but the next commitments he makes (i.e. saying 'I love you') are not intentional.
In season 3:
Saying 'I love her' happens on accident, she's never meant to hear. The next time he's asked about it, he fumbles and wants to deny ever saying it. But when El says it back, he realises... oh shit. I really am in this now. I can't escape, even though I know my feelings are different.
In the famous words of Hopper. "I don't want things to change." "[I want] to go back to how [we] were."
Throughout summer, before the Mindflayer, his relationship with El was easy, it was fine. He could deal with this because he can still go to movie theatres with Will and his friends and El can't go out in public. His relationship isn't real, and the fights they have are just 'silly, stupid fights'.
But then she says she loves him too and now what? He realises this is real, he can't go back on what he's said again. Because no matter what, a promise can't be broken.
Now:
He has to reject childish things and pretend to be 'normal' (but only around El).
He has to keep away from Will, who has the potential to break his promise to El forever.
He still can't say 'I love you' because of this great big commitment, this potential for change, and El clocks him, despite his best efforts to keep up the same relationship he was trying to have in season 3.
When he no longer has the threat of this great big PROMISE looming over him, when he feels that El has no broken up with him through that note signed 'From, El', he now suddenly has the ability to act close to Will. When he's confident that El's safe and that they just need to get back to Hawkins, he's able to express how he really feels.
He can finally, finally work with Will without feeling guilty.
That is, until El's in danger again. Until Argyle reminds him of the ramifications of his girlfriend being missing, reminding him of the promise that he's always made.
That's when this intimacy with Will suddenly feels taboo again:
The next time he needs to make a commitment towards her, it's through pressure. The bottom line is, Mike likes being a hero, he wants to be a saviour, but he was never ready for it to feel like this.
When Will reminds him that he's the heart of the Party in Surfer Boy Pizza, he believes that it could never be Will that needs him, but that Will's telling him that it really is El that still needs him. And that she always will.
So he holds her hand, exactly like he did back in season one, and makes his Promise again, this time, knowing that he's trapping himself.
Now, instead of a naive kid, he's a teenager, he's changed, despite not wanting to. He's resigning himself to a life without truly being able to express his feelings. He's not just some kid going to the Snow Ball with a girl that he cares about, he's promising to love her, knowing he's trapped himself in this promise again.
After all, he's already promised to save her, and if he thinks saying 'I love you' will save her, he's gotta do it no matter his true feelings right?
In season 5, someone, someone needs to tell this poor boy that he does not need to keep his promise. El needs to tell him about her growth, what she has learned from her time at the lab---that is, that she does not need Mike to love her, which she seems to have understood. She has already accepted that her lover won't arrive at the train station.
And Mike should realise that saying 'I love you' did not in fact save El. It was the reminder to fight, that Max is in trouble, that there are more important things, bigger than their relationship, that allowed her to escape the vines.
So when Mike hears that he no needs to keep up this promise, that he no longer has to hate himself for being a 'liar' to someone he cares so much about, that he can open himself up to happiness and understanding again, he'll probably feel pretty complete.
What do you think?

TROP's Galadriel is a fucking fantastically made character
And I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
I did not watch âThe Rings of Powerâ when it first came out. I thought about watching it back then but I, like so many others, believed in the words and warnings of popular youtubers who made their careers under the presupposition that they not only know of the art of storytelling, but they understand it: so much so, that they easily distinguish what is good storytelling, and what is not.
One of the primary reasons I didnât care for it, apart from not being a fan of *The Lord of the Rings, (*more because of never reaching for it than because of any strong feelings against it - which, I am happy to say, has since very much changed), was because of the showâs treatment of Galadriel. I did not know The Lord of the Rings, but I did know Galadriel. This fearsome, tall woman who commanded attention by the pure force of her presence, almost divine in her likeness, was someone I always cherished - without even knowing her story. Here was the evidence of a woman existing in a story that neednât a sword to show her strength, her power. She didnât need any stereotypically masculine strengths to be respected by other men. She was the victory of femininity distilled.
Then, earlier this year, right about when The Rings of Powerâs season 2 was coming to a close, I was convinced by the sheer amount of advertisements of the show to give it a watch. âFine,â I thought, âI will see this flaming pile of compost for myself.â
And since then this new version of Galadriel has not only won my attention, she has won my heart. I have finally watched all the movies, I have started reading the books: something that the movies by themselves would never convince me to do. I fell in love with the Middle Earth, and in the prose of Tolkien, in this unique English fairytale.
But more than that: I have gazed upon the last two years with an old longing, one with the sense of a wasted time. I could have known about Middle Earth way sooner, I could have dreamed with it and lived with it for two years.
And that sense made me look back on its cause: the youtubers whose opinions I trusted, and particularly their treatment of Galadriel.
Guess then who I found shoveling a grand bullshit pile of poor analysis towards me?
Yes, yes you guessed it.
They called her many a word, scarcely any good ones - âMary Sueâ, âunlikeableâ, âa brash, violent, unsympathetic dickâ.
And it was a bunch of men who could not tell âcharacter motivationâ and âcharacter flawâ apart from each other, who could not separate their distaste for women better than them at anything from the âpolitical motivationsâ of writers, men who cannot spell âcomplexâ but who claim they yearn for it in their protagonists.
So I sat down with what I do best: I watched season one again, I wrote out all my thoughts, I analysed the dialogue and symbolism - and came to my own conclusions, undisturbed by murmurs of insecure people. It was just the creative work itself, and my thoughts on it.
And what I found was a complex, flawed female protagonist, that I for so long had a burning ache for. A character that I suppose, if outright given a chance, a lot of people would love.
(This is a very long essay. More of it, and subsequent parts here:)
This is an almost vomit - pile - essay more than stream - of - consciousness - essay, I'd say. Sorry in advance

Broke my heart and called me pretty, won me back and called me his - Tyler Owens (smut)
Watched Twisters again and I simply needed to write another Tyler fic. I listened to "Pretty Slowly" by Benson Boone while writing this. Please like and reblog if you enjoyed reading this, your comments keep us writers motivated! Enjoy my loves. xxx
Summary: Tyler had ended his engagement to the reader years ago, all for her to chase her dreams. But when he turns up as a guest for her lecture, both find themselves thrown back into the love they still feel for one another.
Warnings: 18+, smut, piv, oral (f), ex-lovers to lovers, some angst, lots of fluff tho
Pairing: Tyler Owens x professor!fem!reader (4k words)
â(Y/n)?â Her eyes flickered up from her notes, watching her assistant take a step into her office. With a soft smile playing on her lips, (y/n) waited for Alice to keep on speaking, knowing that she must leave for her upcoming class in a few minutes.Â
âThereâs been a scheduling problem with your guest for todayâs lesson, they sent somebody else. Heâs waiting outside for you.â For a second, she only stared at Alice, letting the words sink in before her annoyance and anger could clash through her. Organising guests who were willing to speak to her students has always been a struggle, she spent hours on finding the right people and now she couldnât help but curse them for not giving her an earlier notice.
âSend him in, thank you, Alice.â (Y/n) began to collect her notes as the elderly woman left the room to fetch whoever was waiting outside, buying herself some time to remain calm. Deep breaths left (y/n), fighting through the uneasiness she couldnât shake.Â
The sound of boots meeting the ground rang in her ears, and suddenly her body began to tense, freezing on the spot almost. Somehow she could feel him before she saw him, instantly knowing who was about to enter her office even though it had been years since they had last seen one another.Â
âWould you look at that, Iâve always wondered what your office looks like.â His voice shot shudders down her spine, a reaction she had once been all too familiar with but couldnât help but curse now. With her teeth buried in her lower lip, (y/n) let her eyes wander over his features, fuck he was still as handsome as he had been all those years before.Â
âWhat are you doing here, Tyler?â Her voice didnât carry much strength, just enough to draw his wandering eyes back to her. Tyler studied her for a moment, keeping his distance while both seemed to get lost in the draw they had felt ever since their first date, knowing that the other was the one - or at least it had always felt like that.Â
âJake gave me a call this morning, told me he couldnât make it. And since we were in the area anyway, I didnât mind stepping in.â A scoff clawed through (y/n), followed by the shake of her head. She kept her eyes focused on her things while she rose to her feet, set on getting this over and done with as fast as possible.
âOf course you didnât mind, the holy saint Tyler Owens just canât help but present himself at any given chance.â His hand shot out to catch her arm before she could brush past him, forcing (y/n) to stand close to him.Â
âHey, Iâm doing you a favour here, least you could do is treat me with some respect.â His voice still had that southern drawl to it she had longed to hear for way too long. She had deleted all his socials, hadnât talked to any of their shared friends, no matter how many times she had longed to do so - even thinking of him hurt still too much.Â
âRespect? Iâm amazed you even know what that word means.â Both looked at one another for a moment, caught up in the memories that still haunted them to this day. Perhaps it could have been different. Perhaps they could have still been together if their path hadnât been forced to an end years ago.Â
âI did what was right, you can paint me as the bad guy, but donât lie to yourself, darling. I did it for you, and I would do it all over again.â She ripped herself out of his grasp and muttered a small âFollow meâ before leaving the room. Tears threatened to build in her eyes, forced to remember the day he had broken up with her, weeks after he had asked her to marry him. Deep down she knew that he was speaking the truth, if he hadnât broken up with her, she wouldnât have followed her dreams to study overseas to end up where she was now. And yet she hadnât been able to let go of her hurt to this day.
The sounds of their shoes meeting the cold ground was the only thing that could be heard, nothing but heavy steps that felt like they were moving towards their end once again. Ancient lovers reunited in their last hour on this earth, and with one last chance they were offered to find their way back together. A chance that was now slipping through their fingers.Â
âGood afternoon.â Her voice boomed through the big room which was filled with students who all instantly stopped speaking. Tyler kept his distance, waiting near the door while studying her every move. This was what he had hoped for all these years ago. For her to end up right here, doing what she had always dreamt of doing.
Parts of him had cursed himself for ending their engagement, but as much as he had wanted to follow her and help her chase her dream with him by her side, he hadnât been able to leave. He had broken both their hearts with hurtful words spurred on by the anger he had directed at himself and at the circumstances he hadnât been able to rip himself free from.Â
âThis is Tyler Owens, Iâm sure some of you may know his channel. Heâll talk to you about storm chasing today, please bear in mind that youâll get enough time for questions after his talk.â She couldnât look at him, couldnât bear to get lost in the eyes she had always tried to look for in every room. Eyes that had once held their shared secrets. Eyes that had watched her grow into a young woman after meeting when they had been mere teenagers. Eyes that still appeared in her dreams whenever her mind needed a reset from the battles she was currently fighting.
The sound of loud claps filled the room, he moved closer with a smile glued to his lips - a smile that slightly began to drop as she mumbled a quiet âIâll be in my officeâ while brushing past him.
âŠâŠ
âHey,â Tylerâs voice filled her office. A soft sigh left (y/n) as she forced herself to look at him, unable to bite down the hurt that had been clawing at her skin since the second he had first entered her office hours ago. âYou missed an interesting class.â
âI,â she cleared her throat while shifting around on her seat. âI watched the stream. You were good, they loved you.â
âWell, what can I say? We have a big fan community.â A soft laugh managed to leave her before she could stop the sound, forcing heat to rise in her system. âWill you grab dinner with me? I think weâve got some catching up to do.âÂ
She should have said no. She should have kindly told him that she had other plans. But knowing that sheâd most likely not see him again for years and years to come felt like a punch to her gut. So all she did was nod her head and grab her purse, ready to leave her office for the day.
No words were spoken between them as he guided her towards his truck, the same one she had seen in his videos. It felt strange being here with him, sitting in the truck that added to this internet persona of his she was a stranger to, barely recognising the man he was now.Â
âItâs bigger than I expected it to be.â (Y/n) blurted out the words while she looked around the truck, watching Tyler drive them to the spot he seemed to have in mind. The smirk tugging on his lips told her that she had just shared something she shouldnât have, letting him in on the knowledge that she was watching his videos every now and then.
âI always wondered if you were watching us. They miss you, you know.â Nothing but a hum managed to pass her lips, unable to speak up as her throat grew tighter. It had been years since she had last seen his crew, the people she had once called her friends and had cut off the second she had left home, unable to think of anything that had something to do with Tyler. Years had passed before (y/n) had allowed herself to get back into all things storm chasing, which also meant catching up with Tyler and his work.Â
âI miss them too.â Her eyes flickered down to his right hand which seemed to move in her direction but before Tyler could touch her, he pulled back again, balling a fist that rested on his thigh. It hurt her more than she had thought to see him like that, seemingly struggling just as much as she did with their newfound distance after all these years. And yet they were still bound together, by something neither could put a finger on.Â
âThought we could visit Mary Janeâs, for old timesâ sake.â She couldnât reply, not when one memory after another caught up with her. They had lost count on the amount of times they had chased in that area, grabbing dinner and coffees at Mary Janeâs at any given chance. A bittersweet memory that only worsened the heavy feeling settling on her chest.Â
After parking the truck, she watched him round the car to help her down, keeping his hand placed on the small of her back for a second too long. It felt as if Tyler had to force himself to let go, to remember that she no longer was his to touch, even though it only felt right to keep close.Â
âSo, tell me, professor. What did I miss? What did you do the last few years? Your mom didnât tell me much.â Her focus was ripped from the menu at the mention of her mother. She hadnât told (y/n) anything about being in touch with Tyler, hadnât dropped his name once. Every now and then (y/n) had wanted to ask about him, knowing that her mother was most likely at least watching his videos, but something had always held her back. Perhaps she had been too scared to hear of stuff she wouldnât be able to stomach, wondering if he had moved on, if he had found another woman to spend the rest of his life with.Â
âYouâre still in touch with her?â The approaching waitress momentarily distracted them both, taking on their orders while (y/n)âs gaze kept flickering back to Tyler. Seeing him again had made everything more complicated, a distraction she hadnât needed, but as much as she wanted to run and hide from the past, she also couldnât stop herself from wanting to ask all these questions burning on the tip of her tongue.Â
âWell, I call her every Christmas and on her birthday, and she does the same.â An unjustified anger simmered inside of her, drawing a frown onto her features while averting her gaze. It felt unfair that he and her mother had kept in touch, sharing details about their experiences and what they had done over the past years â all while (y/n) had fought so hard for a clean start away from her past. âHey, look at me, pretty.â
âDonât call me that, Tyler.â Hurt flashed over his features, a sight that only worsened the pain she felt deep inside of her.Â
God, what was she even doing here? There was nothing left to say, nothing but a proper goodbye so she could go back to her day and forget the pain she had tried to bury six feet under.Â
âListen, (y/n).â Tyler reached for her hand before she could pull away, forcing her to keep her focus on him. âI didnât do it right back then, should have sat you down and told you everything I feared and worried about. I should have given you the chance to make this decision for yourself. But I donât regret giving you an out, you deserved to experience every dream, everything you have worked so hard for. Donât blame me for wanting you to live the best possible life you could dream to live.â
âBut what if all of those dreams had lost their meaning without you? What if nothing worked the same way without you by my side?â A tear dripped from her eye before she could try to wipe it away. She couldnât read his expression, couldnât read what was swimming in his pupils. Nothing but hurt and confusion that made her pull her hand away from his big one. âThis was a mistake.â
She pushed herself out of the booth and rushed outside while more tears kept on falling. The shaky exhale leaving her drowned out the sound of Tyler calling for her, catching up with (y/n) before he pulled her against his broad chest. Sobs clawed through her as Tylerâs hand kept stroking up and down her spine, holding her close.Â
âI got you, darling, I always will.â
âŠâŠ
âHere, do you need anything else?â It had been hours since her breakdown at the diner. Hours that had been filled with a shared dinner, memories that had been whispered about and eventually a drive back to her place. It had already been late by the time they had left Mary Janeâs, leading her to invite Tyler to stay in her guest room for the night.Â
âIâm alright, thank you, darling.â Tyler shot her a smile before he pulled her in for another hug. With a kiss pressed to her hairline, he eventually let go of her, watching (y/n) leave the room after a few hesitant seconds. Â
Her heart was racing until she found herself laying restless in bed, staring up at the ceiling. The past hours kept replaying, flashing past her open eyes while wondering if Tyler had managed to fall asleep. Seeing him again had ripped open all old wounds, leaving her confused and torn between too many sensations. For the last years she had tried to move on, had gone on many dates that had led to nothing but a hopeless feeling that she may never get over Tyler and the love she still felt for him. A feeling that had now resurfaced once again.Â
With an annoyed sigh clawing through her, (y/n) left her bedroom again, freezing in her step as she found Tylerâs frame standing near the window in her living room, staring down on the city. Slowly, she moved closer, wrapping her arms around herself as she came to a halt next to him.Â
âCouldnât sleep?â His raspy voice made goosebumps rise on her skin, forcing her to shake her head while trying to keep her focus on the lights. A few seconds of silence passed before Tyler wrapped his arm around her waist to pull her against his side. âI missed you, pretty.â
This time she didnât comment on it, could only push herself further into his embrace to search for his warmth. Wordlessly Tyler pulled her along to her sofa, plopping down on it before she placed her head on his chest, falling back into a routine that felt too familiar.Â
âDo you think we would have been married by now if things hadnât ended?â The question was whispered, rolling off her tongue without giving it much thought. (Y/n) had always wondered about their wedding, how it would have played out, who they would have invited and where it would have taken place.Â
âOh, for sure. I wouldnât have been able to wait much longer before calling you my wife.â His soft chuckle vibrated through both their bodies, drawing a smile onto her lips.Â
âI was so excited for it. It would have been the best day.â Tyler tightened his grip on her waist while pressing another kiss to her hairline. For a moment, neither of them spoke, keeping quiet as their thoughts began to spiral. She felt his muscles tense beneath her, making her wonder what he was about to speak while the night wrapped its comforting veil around them.Â
âIt can still be the best day.â Her heart skipped a beat, wondering what he meant by that. Her eyes found his, seeing the way he was torn by whatever kept buzzing through his mind. She wasnât sure what he meant by it, and yet the way he looked at her, filled with something she hadnât felt in years, left her wondering if he was still talking about the two of them.Â
âWhat are you saying, Tyler?â His hand came up to cup her cheek, feeling her warmth pressing against his hand. Seconds of silence blurred by, making both their hearts race while he fought to find the right words.Â
âI wonât ever be able to love anybody the way I love you, and that will never change. And judging by what you told me, itâs the same for you. Marry me, for real this time.â She pushed herself off his chest, rising to her feet with a teary laugh that was torn between excitement and sadness. (Y/n) stared down at him with her fingers buried in her hair, trying to figure out if this was just a joke fate was playing on her.Â
âThatâs insane, Tyler.â He mimicked her movements to draw her back in, hands resting on her waist.Â
âYou know what they say, pretty, if you feel it, chase it. And Iâm so tired of living this life without you by my side.â Her body forced her to move, to close the distance between them with her lips finding his. Electricity buzzed down her spine, forcing her even closer to deepen the kiss. Kissing Tyler had always been an experience to say the least, two magnets that fit together, an explosion of heat and longing, and yet this felt even better than all these years ago. It felt right, more right than anything else.Â
Without breaking the kiss, he picked her up, forcing her legs to find their way around his waist. Tyler carried her back to her bedroom, letting them rest on her mattress with him hovering over her.Â
âDo you mean it? Really mean it?â (Y/n) mumbled the question against his lips. His fingers brushed a few strands of hair behind her ear, a warm touch that communicated what both felt at that moment, an undying longing that grew stronger with every passing second.Â
âMarry me, (y/n).â Another laugh clawed through her, a sound that turned into a moan the second his lips found her neck, kissing their way down to her collarbones.Â
âAlright, I will marry you.â Tyler kissed her again as his hands disappeared beneath her shirt to pull it over her head, exposing her naked frame to his wandering eyes.Â
âYouâre even more gorgeous, fuck. I canât wait to make you mine again.â Her eyes fluttered close as he tugged on her panties, pushing them down her legs. Tylerâs mouth kissed its way to her aching heat, groaning the second he tasted her again after all these years. With both arms slung around her thighs to keep her close, he ate her out, letting his rough tongue brush through her slit before sucking on her pulsing bundle.
Moans and groans left both, high on the different feelings both were held hostage by. No longer could (y/n) remember if being with Tyler had always felt like that, all she knew was that she never wanted this moment to end. Sheâd happily be stuck in time like that, forever reunited with the one that had gotten away.Â
Tyler let his gaze rest on her pleasure-drunken features, trying not to get too eager while his hardening cock begged for her attention. Heâd fuck her all through the night and then some more in the morning, having to burn every passing moment into his mind to fight against the fear of waking up in a few hours from a too good to be true dream.
âTyler,â his name rolled off her tongue, spurring him on to push her over the edge. (Y/n) had her back arched off the comfortable mattress, hands fisting the blanket while her first orgasm clashed through her like a ship hitting the cold ocean ground. She lost control of the moment, could only give room to her sounds the blinding sensation pushed through her.Â
He kept lapping at her folds, prolonging her orgasm while he couldnât bite down his proud smirk. Tyler still knew her body like the back of his hand, able to map her out even with both eyes closed as if she had always been his.Â
âWhat will it be, darling? What do you want?â Tylerâs voice had grown lower, raspier even while he still lingered between her trembling thighs. He watched her heavily exhale, needing to ground herself before letting her twinkling eyes find his.Â
âI need you inside of me, now, Tyler.â Without having to ask twice, he followed her command, getting rid of his shirt and his tight boxers before finding his way back to her. He watched her fish for a condom, helping him roll it down his length as both their hands shook from the anticipation and excitement they couldnât shake.Â
Somehow it reminded her of her first night with Tyler, the first time he had fucked her in the back of his truck in the middle of nowhere. It had been the best night of her life, or so she had always thought - until today at least.Â
With his lips pressed against hers, he kept himself close as he pushed into her, slowly. Both groaned at the feeling, no longer used to being connected this intimately. She clung to him with her nails clawed into the soft skin of his back, needing to adjust for a few seconds before a soft âpleaseâ managed to leave her.Â
They werenât in a rush, werenât set on chasing a high within a handful of seconds, but it felt too good to have one another back again, set on giving their all to the other. Every thrust hit her swollen spot, every thrust reminded (y/n) of the way Tyler had always managed to make her feel - as if he was the match setting a petrol station ablaze, a heat so strong it could melt her skin right off her body.Â
Forever his, forever hers, a story so complete, neither could manage to put it into words.Â
Their bodies met with every faster growing thrust, set on feeling her walls flutter around him while he kissed her breathless. She stared up at him, getting lost in the eyes that were filled with a love so strong, she was sure that neither of them would be able to let go ever again.Â
âAtta girl, youâre doing so well for me. I got you.â He pressed a kiss to her neck while he deeply exhaled. Both tried to drag out the moment, hoping that they could stay connected for longer, but their bodies had other plans, needing another high while falling off the edge together.
Tylerâs hand found her right thigh, pulling it closer to her body to hit deeper spots that made both groan. She snuck a hand between their bodies to circle her pulsing bundle, desperate for the relief cumming around him would push through her. Encouraging praises and sweet nothings left Tyler, spurring her on to let go before he could.Â
And then (y/n) came again, high on everything he embraced while another moan left her. Tyler fucked her for a few more moments, chasing his own orgasm before he groaned against her warm skin. The feeling buzzing through them both only grew stronger, keeping them united while they tried to catch their breaths.
âAre we really doing this? This is insane.â Her breathless laugh filled the room, leaving Tyler chuckling while he lifted his head off her chest. He looked at her for a moment, pressed a kiss to her slightly swollen lips and then pulled out of her.
âWe are, and I canât wait to finally call you my wife.â
